I really don't understand why CCP routinely calls Planetary Conquest "what we should all strive for" in regards to our play. It is meant to be this big high stakes game where there is tactics and high amounts of Prototype but Prototype gear is damn near ubiquitous now meaning that a standard public game could have just as much Proto gear. Even then, what is the reason why "we" should want to do PC?
It isn't like EVE where you can get control of PvE elements like mining or installations in order to get more money to launch bigger and bigger operations. Having a district lets you, well, have a district. If someone else attacks your district, you better defend it or they will have a district. Boy howdy is this a nail biter! Even for making money, you could probably do 4 or 5 games of Ambush in the time it takes to set up and do a PC match and net more than you would get from that one match regardless of win or lose.
This isn't even counting the connection issues that have happened in PC, the TERRIBLE infrastructure, and just the fact that the games play exactly the same other than there being no Warbarge Strikes unless there is someone in EVE. This game has many, many problems. Trying to fix PC enough so that it can be "the shinning example of what DUST can be" is like finding the biggest wart on my back and trying to polish it up.

Idk what PC you play but when I play the game play is more serious then just a pub match, pc is about the organization and fighting other organized teams. You are outright wrong about orbitals in PC and don't know what you are talking about. Warbarge Strikes, not Orbital Strikes. That is what I was referring to. In regards to "play exactly the same", I meant that it was just like any other game mode. It doesn't have special features that exist solely for PC, sans Orbital Strikes from EVE. Yes it is organized play but with 6 squad mates you can just as easily have that intense interaction with playing as hard as possible in public games. The same result of having 16 v 16 of focused players? No but it isn't too far off.
PC doesn't really feel any different. It doesn't have that hold that should make it "what we should all aspire to." In an MMO like World of Warcraft, raiding can be something we aspire to get the best items in the game that we cannot get except through raiding. Same goes for ranked PvP. With PC as it is now, what does the average person get for doing PC? They get a match that is "more important" because CCP says so. Even something like League of Legends ranked teams does a better job show casing player skill and group cohesion than current PC.
If PC was really supposed to be about fighting organized teams, a ranking system with Squads or Teams could be implemented. Hell, high stake corporation battles would do it. As it stands, I do not see the point in Planetary Conquest. It was supposed to be the feature that drove the EVE-DUST link but has utterly failed in that regard.
