Myself, Sgt Kirk, and Galm Fae have all been messing with the new Drifter ships in EVE which appear to be related to the Jove at least in terms of technology and appearance.
These guys like to hang around structures of the same design of their ship that Cat Merc helpfully pointed out are half the size of his home country of Israel. These things appear to be some kind of listening post, and frequently have the Sleeper Circadian Seeker drones near them or wandering around the system, always scanning things.
Now, we decided we would attack one of these Drifters. I lost a Garmur to one because their turrets float next to their hull instead of being attached, so they have no limitation of tracking speed and do perfect damage to any target at any speed at any range.
Eventually Galm showed up in a Drake, and we found out that their shield bar shows up blue because shooting them charges energy for a super-weapon that can wipe out a ship in one shot.
So yeah, these scary mother******* are all over New Eden right now and no on really knows what to do about them.
Just a heads up for all of you who don't play EVE. Since this game doesn't have an EVE section, I'm putting this here to make sure everyone sees it.

Apparently they get rid of the lesser threat targets first because I can be killed instantly and allow the most threatening ships to deal enough damage to them to where they can use that collected energy to use their Doomsday weapon.
Luckily, my Enyo (Assault Frigate) had just enough tank to barely get by with 40% hull left. Doomsday Weapon? I assume these things only appear in Low/Null then. Doesn't affect me at all! Oh no, these ones were in high-sec.
They appear anywhere you can find an Unidentified Wormhole in your Overview, and that includes quite a few high-sec systems. If these things start roaming around like the Circadian Seekers do, you'd be well advised to GTFO every time you see one. They do NOT **** around.

So now I was flying into The Spire, which is part of the Dronelands, and I saw FOUR NAMED Sansha ships of varying size.
No Incursion was currently active in that area.
**** is starting to get weird.
(The Dronelands are a set of regions where the only NPCs are Rogue Drones, meaning you NEVER see Sansha in that area for any reason. Sansha's Nation is the faction that has been using self-made wormholes to attack whole Constellations of solar systems at random points in New Eden since 2011.)

Those must be very small structures indeed. Or, you should choose your analogies more careful, less politically flavoured. EDIT: or Cat Merc should. How is using the size of the country he lives in as an analogy of size political? If it were me making the analogy I would use a state in the US because that's where I live.
This post confuses me.

That's exactly what Mobius was thinking about! They don't do anything, no ewar, no tackling, no disruption, just flat out damage. Furthermore, it seems they prioritize support craft over combat ships. It's as if they know that they're at a disadvantage and seek to level the playing field. It's starting to make more and more sense that electronic support might be our greatest asset against these guys. You know darn well this is all for Valkyrie. "Small fighters are the key." will, I'm sure be the lore response when Valkyrie is set to be released. Betcha it is! No need for Dust anymore we are being shoved in a corner Unfortunately the Drifters have adapted to both ECM and Sniping as counters.
They are now immune to jamming and their guns hit out to 400km.
Also, the news report that mentioned this said that they are CURRENTLY unable to see through cloaks.
So yeah, only a matter of time before they're blapping cloakers.

Dust 514 will still be boring with no events.... I'm at the point of saying I'd call that safer. That broadcast by Hilen Tukoss showing the stupidly huge Drifter fleet was dated at least SIX MONTHS AGO, man.
At least you don't have to worry about an invincible AI popping out of nowhere and instagibbing whatever suit or vehicle you're in.

Speaking of updates:
The Scope - DED Release Drifter Autopsy Findings The Scope GÇô Imperial Navy mobilizes in response to drifter presence The Scope GÇô Hilen Tukoss Broadcast Revealed The Scope GÇô Further Turmoil in New Eden
I don't mean to sound like I'm shitting myself, but those things will waste through any fleet the Amarr Navy can put together, not to mention any of the other nations.
Given we still don't even know what they want or what they did to the remnants of the Jove, there's pretty big cause for worry.

I like it.
