But seriously, there is no sandbox in this game; it doesn't support it. Your sandbox is strictly limited to fittings and skills. There isn't any scope for sandbox play outside that.
Minecraft is a sandbox. DUST514 is not.
Guys, we need to stop calling MU a 'matchmaker' when it's actually a 'teambuilder'.
And I want to play FE:A now. Damn.

Great, but that's as valid as me saying BF4 is sandbox (actually BF4 has more custom match options, so if that's your metric, DUST has no sandbox at all).
Fight Club and Thunderdome are all well and good, but they're really a thrown-together solution that really is quite inadequate. We just don't have the level of control we'd need for a sandbox; we're too heavily governed by gentleman's agreements.
Also, I didn't know about that tournament; a pity :(
