Well I'm obviously not Rattati, but speaking to the CPM, they've basically said that if the whole Skins thing actually works out, what you'll likely see is your BPO being 'split' you'll maintain your BPO suit but it will just be a generic color. You'll then get a skin of the original BPO which you can then apply to the BPO, or to other compatible suits.
So for example my Sever Logistics Suit. I'll get a Plain Color Minmatar Logistics BPO, and then I'll get an orange camo 'Sever' skin which I can use on any compatible suit.

No problem. Just note that none of this is actually confirmed, just what I've heard talking to the CPM but understand that the final result may not be the same, though I would be extremely surprised if it was.

Wow, that is an ingenious idea. +1 for him. It is way too impractical to create a new fitting from scratch just for different look, especially if you have only few of those. Wait, what would happen to APEX suits then?
They might split those as well. You may get your BPO pre-fit APEX, and then that unique APEX skin which can be applied to compatible suits.

You misunderstand, you would get to keep your BPO.
