I feel like the quality of gameplay really went down the gutter when the active scanner was introduced. People used to need awareness. Now you just need a scanner. It puts people in weaker suits at an extreme disadvantage because scanners force you to fight people head on instead of on your terms. No one complained about scanners when scouts are all they needed (even though scanners didn't change anything from then except the team scans).
Stop crying.

I can count on 1 hand how many times I have been scanned this week. The difference in HP stacking vs dampening I guess. My assaults all have 27db profile. that is one complex one basic dampener. You can stack hp but not dampeners and then come and complain about them. Don't know why CCP made mods other than HP since that is the only ones people like you expect to use. If TTK wasn't too damn short and anti-armor weapons weren't an over abundance in the battlefield, sure I would stack dampeners. But knowing that Gallente Assaults are not that good and relly on good reps to stay alive, yeah. On my shield suits I run dampeners on lows. PS: I'm rocking a Federation Spartan. Which comes with one Dampener. On top of that, all my Gallente Assault suits have less than 500 armor so I am not really stacking up on armor but on reps. Assaults have the old scout profile now. That's a major buff to their profile. If you want to dodge scans, go scout or damp. |

Everyone complained about scanners the second they were put in the game. Where the hell have you been? Besides, the last time I killed you I was using a dampened Assault. They were broken the second they were put in the game. They're in a better place now. 360 scans are only possible within 100m (I think) with 2 proto scanners, or 4 of the rest. Plus, Mediums can get below the STD one without any skills, and easily get below the ADV one.
As for your comment about killing me: everyone kills me. I kill myself quite often as well. That comment is about as useful as shit on a stick.
@Judas, yes, I am defending wall hacks to a certain extent. I don't like team scans as much as the next guy, but if anyone wants to go under scans, they damp. If they don't have enough lows, oopsie daisy. Scanners are just a tool to point people to the right direction, they won't get anybody kills by themselves.
I don't understand the heavy balancing part. Are you saying that because they're scanned, they lose out on potential wins? Because they were always eHP> all class.
Scanners are cheap, but those that skilled into a gk.0 and a proto scanner will have to spend some serious isk and lose out on WP if they're squadless (unlike with every other equipment).
If you say "everyone must be allowed to dodge proto scans if fitted properly", then would I be allowed to say "everyone should be allowed to have 1000 armor of fitted properly"? Because it's pretty much the same thing. Different suits have different specializations. If you want to damp, go Gallente Scout. If you want supreme wallhacks for a limited time depending on your tools, use the Gallente Logistics. So on and so forth. |
