Happy Palentine Day as the Koreans say since they lack a "V" in their alphabet.
A Matter Of Love A Matter Of Love You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. GÇöDeuteronomy 6:5

03:06 Download MP3 Subscribe to iTunes Read: Mark 12:28-34 | Bible in a Year: Leviticus 15-16; Matthew 27:1-26 GÇ£Where intellect and emotion clash, the heart often has the greater wisdomGÇ¥ wrote the authors of A General Theory of Love. In the past, they say, people believed that the mind should rule the heart, but science has now discovered the opposite to be true. GÇ£Who we are and who we become depends, in part, on whom we love.GÇ¥
Those familiar with Scripture recognize this as an ancient truth, not a new discovery. The most important commandment God gave to His people gives the heart the prominent place. GÇ£You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strengthGÇ¥ (Deut. 6:5). Not until the gospels of Mark and Luke do we learn that Jesus added the word mind (Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27). So, what scientists are just now discovering, the Bible taught all along.
Those of us who follow Christ also know the importance of whom we love. When we obey the greatest commandment and make God the object of our love, we can be assured of having a purpose that transcends anything we could imagine or our strength could achieve. When our desire for God dominates our hearts, our minds will stay focused on ways to serve Him, and our actions will further His kingdom on earth and in heaven.
Lord, we long to make You the supreme desire of our heart. As You taught Your disciples to pray, so too we ask You to teach us how to love. Guide us today. Count as lost each day you have not used in loving God. GÇöBrother Lawrence INSIGHT: According to rabbinic tradition, there are 613 commandments in the Torah (the Pentateuch) which every pious Jew must keep. When asked which of these commandments is the most important, Jesus (quoting Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and Leviticus 19:18) said to GÇ£love the Lord your GodGÇ¥ and GÇ£love your neighborGÇ¥ (Mark 12:30-31). All the commandments are summarized in the duty to love (Matt. 22:40). This priority of love is echoed by John, the apostle of love, in 1 John 4:7-21. By Julie Ackerman LinkFebruary 14, 2015

Is this an Amarrian thing? Amarrian? No. 'Twas the real life people who believe that some bearded man in the skycreated everything and, despite all of the horrible things he's done (genocide, condoning pedophelia, horrible torture for all of time for not believing he exists regardless of you're deeds, etc.), he is a loving god and all should follow him. This is known as Christianity*. *Likely includes many other religions. I told you, Tim. I'm that guy.
I beg to differ, but to each his own. I personally believe that if we put God first that we would have less conflicts.

I personally believe that if we put God first that we would have less conflicts. Except that if you were to do that, you'd have to kill anyone that does anything on the sabbath day, gays, cursing a parent, bestiality, adultery, worshipping other gods, taking the lord's name in vain, etc. We'd likely have MORE conflicts. On a side note, preachers are very good conmen.
I dont know where you heard that but thats not what Christianity is about. We had a pretty eye opening sermon yesterday. Most religious people are so focused on keeping laws that serving God becomes legalism. The whole point of Jesus coming was to save us from ourselves. Since the laws were either too difficult or people began serving the laws we got one simple law: love. Love God, which implies that you love everyone as you would love yourself.
Quoting the Bible out of context is very popular hence the misunderstandings I was actually attending a church when I was a kid that made us walk barefooted on sundays or whenever we wore "church garments".
I can love someone but disagree with what they do

And he didn't come for peace. His words, not mine. Also, explain the Tower of Babel, then. Gen. 11:6-7 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Why was he scared that people could work together for a greater goal without violence and hatred? What was the point of that?
God is not scared of people. Thats where you are wrong. The biggest problem with humans is that we see to think God is something that we can fathom. Yes Jesus came to fulfill the laws but why was he called a heretic? Because he replaced the 10 commandments with one commandment. If you love your neighbor you wont kill him or covert his possessions. About the Tower of Babel, I am sure you can think of many examples, whenever a corporation gets too big, it always leads to disaster look at ENRON .
And you are just quoting out of context again but your questions are all valid.

You know the actual ten commandments, the ones put in the Ark of the Covenant and not broken and called the ten commandments in the text, say nothing about murder being wrong, right? It's more important not to boil a young goat in its mother's milk than to not kill your fellow man. Yeah, acts of hatred are fine. Real, not real. Doesn't matter. I'd suggest you take 99% of the words in it with a giant grain of salt.
You seem set in your ways, hating from personal experience is more difficult than loving everyone.

You seem set in your ways, too. Believe what you want, I don't care. However, at least know what the beliefs of what I'm assuming to be your religion says. Of courI, you might actually know what it says and neglect most of it to conform with your personal beliefs. I don't know. It's a book written by primitive men that didn't understand the world very well, so they created a god to explain it. Could there still be a god? Yeah. Does that mean I'll worship a creator of such atrocities as disease and war and hate and death, or that anyone else should? Never. I think that's a fitting end to this discussion. Good day, sir.
Have a nice day and God bless.
