Luke 14:26 - If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. I'm that guy. *shrugs* Sue me. |

Is this an Amarrian thing? Amarrian? No. 'Twas the real life people who believe that some bearded man in the skycreated everything and, despite all of the horrible things he's done (genocide, condoning pedophelia, horrible torture for all of time for not believing he exists regardless of you're deeds, etc.), he is a loving god and all should follow him. This is known as Christianity*.
*Likely includes many other religions.
I told you, Tim. I'm that guy. |

I personally believe that if we put God first that we would have less conflicts. Except that if you were to do that, you'd have to kill anyone that does anything on the sabbath day, gays, cursing a parent, bestiality, adultery, worshipping other gods, taking the lord's name in vain, etc. We'd likely have MORE conflicts. On a side note, preachers are very good conmen. |

Matthew 5:17, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." Matthew 10:34, 35, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." He didn't get rid of ANY laws. And he didn't come for peace. His words, not mine. Also, explain the Tower of Babel, then. Gen. 11:6-7 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Why was he scared that people could work together for a greater goal without violence and hatred? What was the point of that? |

Why was he scared that people could work together for a greater goal without violence and hatred? What was the point of that? God is not scared of people. Thats where you are wrong. The biggest problem with humans is that we see to think God is something that we can fathom. Yes Jesus came to fulfill the laws but why was he called a heretic? Because he replaced the 10 commandments with one commandment. If you love your neighbor you wont kill him or covert his possessions. About the Tower of Babel, I am sure you can think of many examples, whenever a corporation gets too big, it always leads to disaster look at ENRON . And you are just quoting out of context again but your questions are all valid. You know the actual ten commandments, the ones put in the Ark of the Covenant and not broken and called the ten commandments in the text, say nothing about murder being wrong, right? It's more important not to boil a young goat in its mother's milk than to not kill your fellow man. Yeah, acts of hatred are fine. Real, not real. Doesn't matter. I'd suggest you take 99% of the words in it with a giant grain of salt. |

I'd suggest you take 99% of the words in it with a giant grain of salt. You seem set in your ways, hating from personal experience is more difficult than loving everyone. You seem set in your ways, too. Believe what you want, I don't care. However, at least know what the beliefs of what I'm assuming to be your religion says. Of courI, you might actually know what it says and neglect most of it to conform with your personal beliefs. I don't know. It's a book written by primitive men that didn't understand the world very well, so they created a god to explain it. Could there still be a god? Yeah. Does that mean I'll worship a creator of such atrocities as disease and war and hate and death, or that anyone else should? Never. I think that's a fitting end to this discussion. Good day, sir. |
