Screw player trading, making PC better, Planet raids and all that elitist rubbish.
You need to address the matchmaking issues. I've been playing on my alt tonight as my main capped out, and this alt has 700k sp. Nothing. Every time I see someone, it's always the same full proto losers who get their kicks from killing players with low sp.
You need a separate lobby. Once battle academy finishes, we get thrown into this cesspit of morons, the power-hungry, and otherwise better players. Is my 700k Scr toting MLT suit with mlt mods going to win? NO. Because the tryhards run proto all the time because they feel powerful in it. Which in itself is god damn pathetic.
There needs to be an intermediate between Battle Academy and this diabolical mess. A place where people under say, 20mil sp can actually play a game where the big corp tryhard proto stompers can't actually play.
This is why so many people don't continue to play. This is why your fanbase is so low. This is why people think you couldn't care about new players, because you're focused on the elitist crap that will make your vets happy.

I dare you to run full mlt in pubs for the next month. All day everyday. Only then will you have a valid opinion because you're clearly one of the proto stompers.
No other game in the history of ever has matchmaking this terrible.

People scapegoat "proto gear" because they assume that proto is automatic win. Proto gear responds the same as any other gear when you get a shotgun to the back, sniped in the head, blown up with an RE, or whatever else. Instead of crying about the enemy that's better than you, why not try tactics to counter them? You won't win every game, and if that makes you angry enough to come cry on the forums then maybe you should turn off the game and go outside.

Firstly, I'm playing on a low sp Alt, and getting massacred.
Secondly, when I play my main, because he's got better gear and higher skills, I top the board a lot.
So in conclusion, yes, proto gear DOES make the difference. A proto sentinel with resists to weapons, with pro mods and weapons.
It's forum warrior douchebag bags like you that want people to believe otherwise. Power trips.

Right, but before all of this got heated and the absolute tossers came out of the woodwork, my point is that something needs to happen to give newer player with low sp a fighting chance.
I mean, for god sake, my low sp Alt just got thrown against a Gallicus q-sync, as if the night hadn't rubbed enough salt in the wound already.
I'd go back to my main to avoid such an issue, and just let my alt cook away on passive, but with my main having capped out already, what's the point?
There's just no room for sp progression if you're a newer player.

Matches based on gear or sp will not change a thing. You will still see the same behavior. There is no incentive to put it all on the line to win. I would rather see squad based and no squad based matches with squad based matches getting a higher payout and greater eom rewards.
Well if ever ccp decide to ever act on this (Which I'm getting the impression will be never) and we do get a game mode for newer players, meta lock, no squads, whatever, we'll see if it's actually any different.
I'm not blaming pro gear for a Defeat on the eom screen, frankly don't care about eom screen, I'm saying newer players who have no choice but to run militia, do not stand a chance against proto users.
Remember being new? Crappy starter isk, so you've got to run all your battle academy matches making some, just so you can get to Light Weapon level 1 or (Race/Size) Dropsuit Level 1. By the time you've got those, you then need to make the money in Pubs for whatever you've skilled up, and to gain more sp.
Going up against proto users constantly, getting massacred constantly....the isk/sp payouts for them are horrible. I'm willing to bet that's why 90% of new players leave and never come back.
It's such a massive problem, and I can't grasp why proto users don't see it as such.
