Some VERY easily implemented things that serve a purpose:
1) CEO/Directors should be able to post a "Message of the day" much like CCP are able to setup messages to us. In order to get into your merc quarters, you should have to R2 through the messages, including those that are managed by the corporation a player belongs to. They can be updated as often as CCP permit, but allow us to directly communicate with those unwilling or unknowing of the mail features. (even as CEO i'll skip checking mail for days on end sometimes).
2) Skirmish is a great mode, but it is EXACTLY the same mechanically as another mode, Factional Warfare. In the absence of a large increase to the player base, I would recommend that CCP get rid of this redundancy in modes. Which brings me to my next recommendation; (eliminating skirmish as a mode to increase activity in more serious (and hilarious) conflicts).
3) Players should be able to "opt in" to join and "lock in" to a faction for Factional Warfare. This could be done by allowing them to pay into one of the factions, or simply join it, for a period of time (maybe a month or a couple weeks(?)). They can only fight for the faction they have chosen at this point, and only wins will provide them with the benefits of the loyalty they are opting in for. With this comes something critical...
The biggest thing this game is missing is the link between EVE and Dust514. I have bridged this gap long ago, but only as a result of immersing myself in EVE in order to further my Dust514 career. The vast majority of Dust514 players are in no way aware this game connects to EVE online, despite many of them being aware of EVE's existence....
.... I propose that all Mercenaries that OPT into a specific faction would gain access to that factions "Militia" channel, the one that is in the EVE client. Not only are the Militia channels in delayed mode (and can handles LOTS of folks if necessary), but they also happen to be full of meta, (Spies, fools, tacticians, recruiters, (it goes on and on in the positive beyond that))....
My experience with FW-Faction Warfare, is simple. The pilots CRAVE intel + We want more OB support [-] There is no relevant connection.
Disclaimer - I don't know much about PC, and I appreciate all that CCP are doing for those involved in it, or wish to be involved in PC. I have been more involved in the connectivity between both games in this sandwichbox, and wish to see it come to maturity. The above recommendations are easily implemented and will have profound effect in the games community and player retention. Beyond that, a recruitment tool is the only other thing I can suggest to add, in order to help out newer corps (or smaller corps) to gain/retain more players.

No thanks. Make FW interesting instead of reducing our already minimal options.
Does that mean you agree with my recommendation regarding FW, but disagree only with the removal of Skirmish mode?
