In spite of the extensive use of forums and established comm/feedback with the devs in this game, there is still a lot of things that are not explained to us, and we are quickly tempted to draw our own conclusions. In that vein:
--I'm not at all convinced that the "WP-minimum" was created with combatting the AFK players in mind.
--I'm also not convinced that we are defining "Vet Player" the same way CCP is defining "Veteran players". Some may think it's got to do with how many SP you've accumulated. But when you have various alt characters, does it really make sense that CCP would try to base it on this factor?
I'm classified by the mechanic as a Veteran player. My most-used character has about 23 million SP (GǪand I don't think that matters at all).
I'd like to think that the "WP-minumum" is extended to discourage "Vets" (giving them just a little slap on the wrist with the teacher's ruler) "Vets" like me from being in a match, and not contributing at all to the team's efforts when by now I should have lots of combat know-how to contribute, and know good and well I SHOULD be getting in there and helping to win each and every match.
That IS what CCP has said is the core aim of Dust combat, and very recently the devs are campaigning to drive this core concept into our heads. "You're good at this game if you try to achieve a 'Victory' at the end of every match, and you are willing to replace personal pursuits with pursuits that will help your team".
Newberrys are waived from the WP-minimum because they hardly have the experience to or survival skill to consistently manage 3 simple actions that instantly help your side, (they're too busy learning how not to get shot for the 35th time), and their's no shame in that.
But I'm experienced enough to know a half a dozen actions in every match that can help my team, so shame on me if I don't even contribute 3 of them to help.
Even though I'm at the stage where I don't need SP from very match, I think the WP-minimum is an appropriate "shame on you, Celeste!--get in there and help us!"
