Fundamentally depends on how many heavies/squadmates you are expected to be directly responsible for. If you're to be primarily paired with 1-3 then that Core Focused is the way to go, the reps/rate outweigh the clunk of locking the beam. If you're to be the sole repper for 2 or 3-16 then you'll absolutely want the ability to dual beam, where that Republic Boundless Atiim suggested ^ comes into play, followed by the 6kin, Republic benefits being a better rep/rate and range than the Core or the 6kin. That range being very very helpful, IMO, for juggling reps between multiple troopers in multiple positions.

I'm liking some of these answers, really contrast against the public opinion that reps is just leash a heavy and soak in the WarPoints. There's a certain craft and at some levels an Art to effective, worthwhile repping and it's nice to see answers that reflect it.

Somebody last night (might have been Munson, but I think it was Kalash) said there's a firm plan to add a shield repping tool of some sort. Lookout, bitches! Being OP hasn't even started yet!

For me, since I'm in no way privy to every statement any dev has made in any of the multitude of areas devs apparently comment or release info at, its definitely a "confirmed rumor" .
