This isn't the days of old where we stand still in a field and take turns shooting each other.
In a real life battlefield you constantly move or you get flanked or a grenade/rpg lands in your lap and you die.
In a futuristic game where I'm a super soldier and have enhanced speed/ mobility you can be damn sure I will take advantage of it.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

Even if you're a super soldier, there are some basic physics laws that should be respected, NOTHING can instantly change direction without passing by zero speed. You can't have an infinite acceleration.
26,000 years from now I'm sure they have some sort of technology that allows much faster directional changes in addition to being genetically altered and wearing a super suit.
Also have you ever seen how fast a rabbit can change directions? It's pretty damn fast.
I wonder if the dogs complain about rabbit strafing.
The only real truth in history is that it was bloody.

Yet again you think an extremely more advanced society won't develop ways to move our mass faster through science and technology?
The rabbit evolved to do what it can do. Technology is vastly better than evolution in many ways especially since we can tailor it to our needs.
Speed has always been an advantage in war. The Mongols used the speed of their horses. The Germans used the speed of their tanks and the blitzkrieg. Jet engines replaced propellers. Speed is always important.
If you don't think a highly advanced military wouldn't make its soldiers as fast and maneuverable as technologically possible than that's your problem.

It's better than hearing more bitching from baddies that can't deal with a core mechanic of this game.
If these scubs want another boring ass twitch shooter where the first person to shoot wins 90% of the time there are plenty of them to choose from. Strafing actually adds complexity and player skill into Dust instead of most of the FPS which are just all copies of each other.

Wow human stupidity is baffling, dude if you consider breaking hit detection a skill then God help you.You can't be reasoned with.
No but insta killing another player because you saw him .2 seconds before he saw you like in COD and BF while using the insanely strong aim assist those games have...that takes skill.

Dust is a tracking based shooter and not a twich shooter like bf or cod this Unfortunately is bad for folks with bad hand eye coordination and bad fine more skills the hight TTK means either you stand there like a dumbass or straif to put the enimy off their aim. DUST is a twitch shooter.
Not compared to many other FPS out there.
Many times in dust I have been attacked from behind and I'm able to turn, fire at the enemy and kill them before they kill me.
This is very hard to achieve in real twitch shooters as the first one to attack wins most of the time because TTK is so short.
The hallmark of a twitch game is normally the fastest reaction time wins. But being first, or reacting faster doesn't always guarantee a win in Dust as there are many more variables to consider in Dust versus other FPS.
Skills, suits, damage types and yes even strafing contribute to who wins in a 1 v 1. Not just who shoots first.
