Would you be okay with nerfing or removing damage dealt to dropsuits, if Fluxes could:
- Reset Capacitor of Dropsuit Equipment
- Disable Handheld Equipment for Xs
- Jam Radar for Xs
- Disable Passive Scanners for Xs
- Temporary Reduce Bandwidth by Xmb/s GåÉ Not too sure on this one.

They would still have to have some damage, otherwise nobody would use them.
Also I'd rather just see a "new" grenade then get rid of the flux as it is, I need it for my playstyle and it is very unique.

Being able to jam someone's radar and equipment, while also temporarly removing their passive scans and potentially destroying some of their equipment (by reducing their bandwith) is pretty good.

Yes to all, if its a variant grenade based on the flux attributes

Make a Flux variant or simply just create a new type of grenade. Flux variant would work better, imo.

Flux proxies would be nice too My idea would be to buff the Locus Grenade to the point where it's reasonably effective against both Shields and Armor, while making the Flux Grenade the anti-electronic grenade (like an actual EMP).
Though I would still have a packed variant for the Gunnlogis, because screw Gunnlogies.
Operative 1174 Uuali wrote:Why fluxes? Why not just make a new kind of grenade? Flash bang? ECCM? Because Flux Grenades have already been established as an EMP and a new grenade that's not a simple reskin (thus defeating the purpose) won't be happening anytime soon.

Re-skinning the fluxes would surely be pretty easy? Rattati has already mentioned making new heavy weapon variants by doing exactly this with existing assets. You just want the grenade to function differently. Doesn't have to look different too. You're only going to look at it for a second before you throw the damn thing.
I would like newer grenade variants. But would rather have diversification rather than homogenization. Adding a new variant of the EMP grenade, that wipes out a suits scanning, sensors (but not shields) would be cool. Maybe give it a larger blast radius too.
The slow blade penetrates the shield.

The flux grenade was made by the Gallente to destroy the shields of the Caldari. Especially vehicles.
The AV grenade was made by the Caldari to destroy the armor tanked vehicles of the Gallente.
It wouldn't be fair that we had grenades that dealt significant damage tl armor, but no grenade designed to take out heavily shielded units.

Personally I don't have any issues with the way grenades are right now; I pretty much exclusively run Caldari Assault suits, and usually use fluxes so my rail rifle can get to doing its job. Reddots with flux grenades usually spell the end for my suit. But I choose to "specialize" in shield tanked suits, and if someone runs equipment to counter my playstyle so be it... Nature of the game and all that.
Buffing Locus damage vs Shields would be pretty bad IMHO, as it will take away the need to run "specialist" equipment and everyone would simply run around with Locus grenades. Right now running flux will increase your chances versus shield tanked suits (which are less common) but are of little use vs the armor tanked suits out there.
I would say that fluxes could do with a nerf to damage output to bring them closer to locus grenades, because the abbility to strip the shields of any suit with a basic grenade is pretty harsh. Giving them a buff in the form of an added ability like mentioned in the OP would be a nice compensation for flux users.

Now if they could freeze/slow a merc so I can hit those pesky minmattar... Thatd be great

Alternatively just whack them with a core locus and then they won't be able to see anything because they'll be dead.

Amarrian Multispectral Dissonance Grenade. Produced disorienting bursts of light at differing wave lengths that has the effect of scrambling a dropsuits sensor suite and causing it to over compensate and subsequently reset.
Has the unfortunate side affect of ... I dunno blinding severely or burning the eyes out of those who are not protected by the drop-suit filters.

Always believed the Amarr should have something like that. The majority of their mantra is all about "cleansing" their enemies with bright, almost holy-like, lights. Besides, out of everybody, being blinded by some Amarrian mercs would be some scary ish... And I'm a Gallente. :V We have the LEAST to fear when it comes to them on the battlefield...
Edit: Also, to the one guy that was saying we shouldn't make a new type of anti-shield grenade because the Caldari only have the Anti-Vehicle grenade...
Wouldn't it be a better argument to say give the Caldari a NEW anti-armor grenade specifically for anti-infantry? You know... Because Anti-Vehicle grenades don't do nothing against infantry?

Eff off the Caldari get nothing. They already have everything handed to them by CCP who consistently seem to play favourites having already reduced Dust 514 to EVE: Caldari-Gallente War Simulator in a world where no one likes the hyper fascist, capitalist, big business **** wads anyway......
But fortunately for those who don't want to be Space Murica or Daddy Warbuck's socially awkward children CCP released Half Finished Content 1.0: The Update and subsequently 1.1, and 1.2. In which they slowly introduce and teases players aligned with the other two supposedly "Key Factions" by spitting out small content updates while they pretend to be concerned with the implementation of racial parity.
Yet they plot in their dark conclaves, with the harrowing screams of the lost and the damned, talk of efficiency dripping from their lips, to develop yet more gloriously awful Caldari Content, spoon feeding the Gallente fans with rationalisations of "why the **** not the Caldari need an enemy" all the while wondering why the greater majority of the player base thinks the Caldari "suck the proverbial phallus shaped implement."
Phew..... pent up content rage over....... the world is a brighter place.
