It depends on your playstyle. If you move around a lot and constantly find yourself fighting in CQC/short range, spec Assault.
Commando isn't very new player friendly.

It really depends on the race. In general assaults are much easier and more friendly to play. Commandos can smash some **** though.
If amarr, Assault >>>>> commando unless you also want to be able to carry an av weapon at all times.
if Caldari Assaut = Tank, Commando = Gank.
If Gallente, Commando = damage, assault = ease of use (Yes gal assault can get more damage, but most don't fit for 3x damage mods).
If minmatar.... **** you you only skilled into it for the swarms.

Both. Assault if you're more mobile, Commando if you're going to camp an objective. |
