I use my seraph logi all the time, However that has everything to do with my play style and the fact I have a level 5 in amarr logi.
I really don't get the commando It is kind of fun switching weapons just before they over heat however , the assaults bonus is much more useful than the laser

It depends on your weapon preference/playstyle. I was torn between Nomad assault and Shaman logi, but I got Nomad because it had more stuff I skilled into. (I still want that shaman with the acr though.)
