The rumor is that Experimental Weapons will cost 200 warbarge components (WBCs). So you'll need 1000 WBCs to redeem your 5 items each day, BUT the L5 factory only produces 600 per day.
If we assume that Officer Weapons at L5 are also 200 WBCs then you are looking at a choice to either waste 3 of your 6 produced items each day AND not be able to save for future upgrades elsewhere OR spend AUR.
Officer Weapons will obviously cost more to redeem so you are looking at only being able to claim 1-2 of those weapons per day unless you choose to spend AUR.

They buffed the numbers. The table above is what the lab produces per level now.
It's not written anywhere, but it's been confirmed in game.
I'm just not 100% certain what it costs to redeem. The 200 WBCs at L4 (experimental) comes from Kane Spero and I trust that he knows what he's talking about.

Of course, that would be great, however, once again, what about new players? What about those who dont pay to level up the warbarge quickly? Now, Im not saying Im against getting nice weapons, Im just saying its understandable how this works.
(I know you have to "pay" components to get the weapons, but come on, that would only slow you down a bit in upgrading the warbarge)
It's understandable that you'll be wasting at least 2/3rds of your produced goods unless you spend $????
Remember that you also have to use the components elsewhere.

Remember that you also have to use the components elsewhere. Ok, maybe I wasnt clear, you are getting goods, but the warbarge doesnt only give weapons, it also gives damage bonus, extra sp, extra isk and I dont know what else. If you want to upgrade the warbarge, you need to sacrifice something else, in this case not to get all the weapons you want. Of course, you could get the weapons, but that would imply to wait in order to upgrade the warbarge. I see no problem with that, and of course, there is that of the AUR, but with or without the warbarge, people who pay are going to keep doing it if it means to get better equipment faster. The warbarge is just a new way to do it, and well, what can we do about it? Just suit up and go kill them.
Then why have it produce 6 weapons per day? The choice should be between stockpiling WBCs for upgrades OR to redeem all of your weapons.
I could totally buy into not being able to stockpile WBCs if you choose to redeem all of your weapons, but spending AUR should be a choice to upgrade faster not operate the mechanics of the system.

You get stuff, you just have to inventory all of your things, then go back and compare the two after you redeem to know what you got.
It's awesome!!

Not that reinstalling is overly tempting...but I've considered it for this reason.
Well at the very least you should be able to produce enough WBCs to redeem the stuff you are producing.
If a player is NOT willing to spend AUR to upgrade then they should totally 100% disregard this feature. It simply won't happen for them. It would take YEARS and/or farming a bunch of alts (assuming we actually get player trading) to upgrade the barge as it is.
And just another thing to go along with the crappy payouts to further the Dust theme of the "rich get richer, while to poor get farmed in pubs".

That would be a lot of salvage. You are likely looking at 1200-1800 WBCs per day to claim 6 weapons at L5. The L5 factory only provides 600 WBCs per day.

It's awesome!! Wait, you don't get to select what you get? It's just random?
Supposedly they fixed it so you get the stuff from that level (experimental weapons at L4 and officer at L5) instead of it being completely random like strongboxes.
But there is no way to choose what you are going to produce. One would assume that this would expand with the simple crafting being proposed.

Like I want to produce experimental weapons that I'm not skilled into. That makes a ton of sense. Thanks for the information, Thor.
If we have player trading it might not be that bad, but I do hope that we are able to focus it on things we'd rather have in the future.

To be honest I'm not sure, but at those higher levels PS3s will biodegrade before you'd be able to upgrade enough to redeem all your weapons per day.

Okay so you have to redeem everything that you have produced. You will have to buy AUR to redeem your stuff or let it go to waste every other day.

Then turn down the number produced. At the very least your warbarge and factory should produce/require enough WPC to redeem without buying AUR.

The Lab is supposed to be the "end game" for the warbarge, hence why it takes so much to upgrade to it. You can't have everything at once you know.
I'm not talking about upgrading. I'm talking about the functionality of the system.
I didn't choose to put the warbarge in the game. Let's pretend we are talking about a baking game. You put your items in the oven and 24 hours later you have 6 cakes ready, but you must have quarters to open the oven. You only get paid 6 quarters an day, but the oven requires 10. You must pay everyday out of your pocket to open the oven.

Are you serious? Are you looking at this?
You have to save an obscene amount to upgrade the modules. But you have to spend it all every other day to redeem your weapons.

To make this easier.
If you choose to use the lab every other day then you'll never be able to upgrade your warbarge. If that doesn't seem stupid to you then I'll just shut up.
