Always fit the best armor repairers you can. Complex armor repairer > Complex armor plate. If you have to downgrade something downgrade the plate.
Damage mods are delicious, use them.
Never underestimate how good the laser rifle is, learn to use it.

The laz0r is nastiness, but you can fry yourself if you're not paying attention. If I'm fixated on watching somebody's shield and armor melt away, it's too late to back off... It's a learning process
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck...

Rhist Stormshield wrote:Just started specing into Amarr Assaut, anyone have some sample fits for standard and advanced they don't mindsharing? Here is a basic fitting that should work for anyone. Features: Amarr A-1 Assault Scrambler Rifle SMG M-1 Locus Grenade Enhanced Light Damage Mod 2x Basic Armor Plate Enhanced Armor Repairer
If you have any fitting skills ("dropsuit electronics" and "dropsuit engineering") you should aim to upgrade the armor repairer and the rifle first.
As for a basic advanced fitting click here. Features: Amarr A/1 Assault CRW-04 Scrambler Rifle SMG M-1 Locus Grenade 2x Enhanced Light Damage Mod 2x Basic Armor Plate 1x Complex Reactive Plate Complex Armor Repairer
This fitting assumes Dropsuit Electronics and Dropsuit Engineering at level 3 each. These are important to have.
The general philosophy behind these fittings is as follows: - The Amarr Assault synergizes well with the Scrambler Rifle. The suit operation bonus provides a reduction in heat build-up that is very useful from lvl 3 upwards. - The Scrambler Rifle works well with damage amplification modules. Not only do you deal more damage per shot, more importantly you deal more damage until you overheat. That statistic is important so you spend less time toasting yourself but rather toasting your enemies. - I chose a SMG as a sidearm. Those are easy to handle and are very effective at finishing off your enemy's remaining armor when your Scrambler Rifle is about to overheat. SMGs have a bonus to armor damage that makes them perfect for this purpose. This complements the Scrambler Rifle well that has a bonus to shield damage. - Amarr suits have slow movement speeds to begin with. Deducting a few percent movement speed due to armor plates doesn't affect them much. So that's what you're going to use to give yourself some additional hitpoints. - You will need some sort of self-repair. Depending on how long you last in battle this can end up being your most important statistic, as it defines how much time you need to wait between two fights. The advanced fit can exchange the reactive plate for a normal armor plate if you find yourself dying too quickly, or for another complex armor repairer if you think it takes too long to regenerate your hitpoints after a fight. - I skipped fitting an equipment item. The Scrambler Rifle doesn't consume much ammo, so you won't need a nanohive. Other equipment won't help you survive any longer too. If you have good fitting skills you may be interested in bringing an advanced active scanner. Those can help you identify groups of enemies through walls so you'll find yourself outgunned less often.
Please feel free to adapt these changes as you see fit. These are intentionally kept very basic to give you a start. |

Yeah this one's a good place to start. I use ferroscale instead of armor plates and alternate between scanner and a nanohive (the repair one, like the person above me said, you don't need ammo). I think everyone agrees the SMG is the good finisher... I played around with other sidearms for damaging armor, and tlhough the magsec is really vicious against armor, the spool time as a finisher is not ideal to pair with the scrambler.
The rest is up to you to discover, again, depending on your playstyle.

If you are looking for a very adaptable and fast Amarrian fit (aka the Slicer of Dust) try this.
Amarr Ak.0 Special Imperial VIziam SCR SK9M Breach SMG Core Locus Grenades
2x Pro Ferroscale Plates 2x Pro Armour Repairers 1x Pro Kin Cat
2x Pro Light Damage Modules 1x Pro Shield Energized
1x Creodron Flux Scanner
You have about 750 eHP 559 Armour Rapid Shield Regen enough to tank with Active Scans and 8m/s for flanking

I found a very strange fitting for the Amar assault. It works on proto only 2 complex plates 3 complex repair K 2 hive Core locus granades Advanced flalock pistol Devolle tactical rifle Adanced shield extender 2 Presision encancer
I have my cores on 4 and I only just squized theses in. I found with this suit you may need to tweek the high slots to suit you but other wise its a great killer Bare in mind I have the assault rifle completely maxed out so you might not have the same affect |

The Amarr assault is a pretty cool suit because it is one of the few suits that can run a complex plate (-5% speed penalty and all) or two and do its job effectively.
Lots of good fits up here. Depends on if you want to run amarr tech or other racial tech.
If you run Amarr tech the laser is cool -- but hard to use, somewhat high skill cap, and you won't score super high with it. Scramblers are, of course, easy to use. Other racial guns are viable.
Depending on which gun you use you'll have to fit your suit differently.
All that being said -- I have NEVER found reactive plates on an Amarr assault to be worth it. Grab a repper, kin kat, or a plate of any other type. (or even a shield regulator) |

Until the repair rate on reactive armor is affected by the armor rep skill, I would recommend ferroscale plates.
I really tend to dislike armor plates because of the -speed penalty, but like Imp Smash said, this is one of those suits that can make good use out of them if you do use them.
I haven't run my Amarr Assault in awhile, but I remember wanting to try a Scrambler Rifle + Flaylock Pistol combo on it. SMG or MagSec are also good, although as previous pointed out, SMG edges out MagSec a bit due to no charge up delay. But I still really like that MagSec.
Breach Scrambler Pistols always butcher me (I also play scout alot, might factor into it) but I cannot use them effectively myself.
Also, Laser Love!
Seriously, try it out, it's a ton of fun but can be frustrating at times, and highlights you for any snipers out there. |

You should want to fit these modules :
Reps, Ferroscales, Reactives, Dmg mods, Precision mod.
Don't use regular plates. They'll give you only slight hp advanatge but very high speed/strafe disadvantage. * Use them only if you don't have complex ferroscales/reactives yet.
If you have good aim, use bolt pistol. Best DPS sidearm [it also beats rifles] with 60m range.

So far, I've been running the assault scrambler, scrambler, and laser. Dude, you don't have to be good with the laser, when people see that beam they run! Also, reactive armor is getting me killed...ALOT! I do better in shitfits than in an assault with reactives.
