My reaction to warbarges is hostile! Copy/paste from different thread:
Warbarges are not real content, just a pretty menu where you farm components and upgrade stuff. It's basically one of those freemium mobile games, and like a mobile game, it's not fun, and heavily monetized to the point of being obnoxious. Wait an unreasonable amount of time to get what you want, or spend a lot of money and speed things up, and to even claim some items created by a subsystem costs even more time/money. People paying money to get access to the damage bonus (while everyone else lags behind, and can't be comparatively competitive) is straying into serious P2W territory.
I was fine with the instant boosting, booster stacking, respecs, BPOs returning to the market, Apex suits (though colors are gaudy and unfashionable). I didn't like strongboxes because they manipulatively prey on human psychological susceptibilities regarding the addictive nature of unknown rewards, and the rarity of keys under normal circumstances was excessive, but ultimately I could tolerate strongboxes. Warbarges cross a line, and frankly I find it insulting that this is the central "content" of an "expansion".

CCP ratatti seems to have forgotten how willing a few are to bite the bullet in favor of the many.
many folks who spent cash on the warbarge (aka that wwarbarge upgrading behavior he sites as a positive) are turning around and warning everyone elsee against upgrading the warbarge now. meaning the fact that people are spending on the warbarge does NOT mean that they view is in a positive light.

lots of spelling and grammatical errors last question is unclear on survey. I like the war barge idea, and the bonus's it is better then not having one. Its a good first step on making them an actual thing that eve players can see. I do disagree with being able to buy better weapons and suits. I will be behind everyone as i take the time to slowly build it out. If game play gets to hard because i'm the only one with out it. then i will sadly stop playing dust and stick with eve till i can't afford to plex my account.
Years ago CCP promised walking in stations. And then we had the door patch. Don't get excited Dust.

Not to be rude. but it's an added feature. Eve has many of these. You can choose to participate or not. You don't have to take part in all the content. You don't have to pay aurum. when i started eve many years ago the skill tree to fully max out would take 70 years. NO BODY COULD DO IT. thats why i play eve you have to pick a niche and stick with it. So something that takes time I'm a fan of.

I'm definitely not hostile to the new warbage.jpg because it doesn't really DO anything so I just don't care.

Dear CCP Ratttatta
Why did you even bother giving this update a name?
This update gave us two good things: Better fitting system, and return of the SL WP gain.
Warbarges themselves is a harsh reminder of what CCP plans to do with Dust - Farm it for Legion.
You didn't get 'hostile' feedback, probably because after 3 years of this BS we've grown numb to even trying to communicate our disdain over the BS.
Farm us more, please, you seem to think it makes us happy....

Don't really care so far. Am waiting to see how it churns out.
Do I have to buy aurum for that thing? No, I'll just wait, as we all have. Does the warbarge help me in fights? Not really. Does the warbage help any reds I fight? Again, not really. That 5% really the only thing that affects me, and even then it'll still be the same squad of Nyain, or the same squad of Pure Evil stomping who won't even need that bonus.

The warbarge is a big meh, you need to spend either an exorbitant amount of time or money to upgrade it, so much so that it ceases to be a feature for most people and just becomes a menu option they need to move off of before entering the battle finder.
Im not really mad or not mad about it, I just dont care at all. |

NO BODY COULD DO IT. thats why i play eve you have to pick a niche and stick with it. So something that takes time I'm a fan of. The gui okay its a little tacky. but then the industry window in eve isn't much in the way of state of the art either. Its a game not a nasa test site. which look pretty dull as well. Feel free to apply to cpm, ccp, or go make a better game yourself. overall in the end you will be making more isk, sp, and doing more damage. something which every player has been asking for a more elite tier to look forward too. Or if you're adhd go buy it now. So I don't have to take part in the whole warbarge thing, but if I don't, I'l fall behind everyone else and their built-in damage bonuses (which AUR users will get access to and max out waaaay before anyone else; for a time they will be the only ones with access to it). I'm affected whether or not I use the warbage, because I have to fight those that use it.
I would not have much of a problem with warbarges if it wasn't designed in such a way that I will fall behind for not using it.

I gots me a ship that produces pieces of scrap metal that I can use to produce more pieces of scrap metal.. AWESOME!!
Honestly, its not much of a big deal, eventually it'll do me some good, so why not use it now and then? People are getting pissed off at something they don't have to use for a 1% bonus in primary weapon damage. Even with people paying, it keeps Dust running. If I get killed by a few Warbarge boosted "Steelmine" Boundless in between, then so be it. People payed for this, a game isn't cheap to run, and with frequent updates offering new content that I'm not paying for, I'm extremely grateful.

My reaction to Warlords 1.0. I'm satisfied.
War barge is kinda cool. I'd like to see where they go with it. Remember this is just the starting point for the barge. And if you hate it, you can ignore it. Won't really matter.
I don't mind the "monetization" either. Why would I, doesn't effect me and makes no effect on game play. CCP having more money makes the game better also.
I'd rather whine about where this game is going after PS3! Can everybody cry about that instead?
