All of the amazing cash grabs going on is not only turning me off from Dust but turning me away from CCP in general. I just canceled the auto recur on my Eve alt today so that both of my characters are now month to month because I am not sure how much longer I want to support a company that treats paying customers this way.
Oh as a side not I think warbarges means Legion is ACTUALLY dead. I have held on to tons of hope but I do not see how warbarges could transfer to Legion very easily and they are asking people to spend A LOT of money on these things. |

Think this way,
what if CCP says that Legion is dead project?Do you know how many people will leave Dust because of that(including me)?It's always better to squeze some more money than tell everyone that Legion is dead.
It's pretty much like AIDS,why would they give you a cure when they can make money by treatmens and after that,you're still dead anyway.

You have no idea how much I agree with this. Here's my thoughts. Even if Legion is still being worked on, we will hear nothing. You said it yourself CCP is cash grabbin, they want the focus on Dust514. If it's not being worked on, we will hear nothing do to cash grabbin. It's awful that a Company goes and lays off employees then announces a new game (project legion), but does nothing to reassure the playerbase along the way. I'm finding it extremly difficult to play Dust currently. It's a respect thing, you want me to spend money when your shelf life is almost over, with no word about the future? please.

They may still be in the draft phase, think pre-pre alpha. Messing around with code and ideas. One of the worst things to do while planning is to tell people what your ideas are because people tend to get annoyed or mad about ideas even if they are ideas that were just spit balled.
Put your flags up in the sky.

Not going to quote, too many i wan tto reply to, so i'll do a blanket reply.

2) I'm not sure what cash grab you are talking about. You don;t pay anything for dust, so OFC they are going to do cash grabs. they have to, you know, make cash. Not sure if you mean a cash grab in eve, cause i have not seen one.
3) Lets play a game of what if shall we? First the setup. At fan fest 2014 CCP made a PR nightmare for themselves, in what is commonly called 'the Rouge Wedding' as we are well aware, ccp showed nothing for Dust, gave all the impresstions it was dead, and showcased legion. This was a huge issue for CCP. As i'm sure they got nailed on the back end with people cancliing there AUR perchuses and getting refunds, but the bad press as well. So with that...
a) Legion devlopment flounders, ccp decides to refcous on dust cause maybe they can save some face. IF legion is dead, and in thsi senario, they announce legion as dead, it will hurt dust, as again people will explode all over the forums and quit playing
a2) If legion is not dead, and still beign worked on, in this scenario it can again, blow up in there faces with yet another PR issue. In this case its lose lose.
b) Legion is not dead, just not ready for show. CCP is still doing things with Dust for *reasons* so CCP decides to just keep things quite, dust is making money, the players who are not trolling the legion forums and playing dust, and in theory having fun. Then why rock the boat?
b2) Legion is not dead, but its in no state to show anything. So CCP starts spilling the beans on things... but thouse things don;t go as planned or come out correctly. They now have another PR issue. This is a lose.
There are still people who wonder where the eve planitary flight from fan fest 04 is. CCP showing thigns that are not done has not been good for them in the past. They are currently walking a think line, between giving out soem info so players stay interested, and shooting Dust in the head before it needs to be. Dust seems to be stablizing form life support, so why would they shoot it again?
Legon needs money to be made, dust makes money. Thus legion gets made. And if its dead? then who cares? if you are having fun in dust them meh, if your not.. then why you posting?
As to the layoffs, this happens when companies kill projects. WoD was not going to be finished, CCP decided to stop wasting money on it, and refocus. What i am seeing, that refocus was a GOOD thing. |

Legion is not dead, for a single reason: CCP, like everybody else, knows that the time of the PS3 is coming to an end. Sooner or later they have to move the project to another platform. And with Legion also being supposed to be F2P it's the perfect successor. Even with all the Warbarge stuff they have to port now. So don't worry. But I guess CCP won't say anything about Legion until they decide to abandon Dust. I guess that'll be another year or 2.

It's really just a name, both games have the same idea of an fps connected to New Eden with interactions with EVE players. Except Legion is going to start on the PC and Dust 514 started on the console. I'd give it another year before Dust is gone.
Should Legion be on the ps4?

I'd go once legion is out, a year before all dust updates stop, then a few more before the dust servers are shut down. |

dust is an undead zombie nothing will kill it, it will just keep shuffling along :P iv been here nearly 4 years trust me nothing can kill this game. and CCP tried REALLY REALLY hard to kill it themselves before giving up

Is it possible there waiting for all the BAD news and info to go away from dust so Game news companies like IGN will be less likely to reference dust 514 as a failure. If you look on the internet IGN was harsh on dust 514. Legion dose not eve have a website like eve Valkyrie.
IMO this is causing a bad PR nightmare for them as they announced it and there not doing anything to show us. Personally i would hope they would come out with a bit of news and deal with PR because no matter how mad i get about them screwing up a little in anyway I would be more happy to see the game is being developed.
Though I'm not as well informed as others out there and this is just speculation.
Either way i want to at least see legion at fan fest. I'm losing interest in dust

I doubt that they would hold the game back because of how the reviews for Dust 514 were if they had the game even near ready. Legion ( if it's still even being worked on ) is probably not in any shape that CCP would want to show at all at least to the gaming news sites. But it's no excuse to not let the players know what's going on. The reviews for dust514 will not be forgotten just hardly remembered and maybe still mentioned even if Legion gets released at a time where dust514s failed release is hardly remembered.
