The lack of silence to the monetization posts and the path that Dust is heading in, is almost as disrespectful to the community as the silence behind Legion/Dusts future has been..
CCP has already lost a handful of supporters with the Legion announcement at fan fest last year.. I can't see any of this monetization crap helping gain those supporters back, especially considering the silence..
I remember the Jita Riots when CCP EVE side tried this crap with Incarna. All of a sudden it's acceptable and CCP doesn't give a damn how their players feel ?
CCP Why don't you actually come clean with us, as your customers and tell us what the long term goal is.. Word on the street is Ratatti is pimping out what is left of the Dust community as much as he can before it dies....
People were excited for Warlord till they opened up their Warbarge and figured they would have to wait days upon months (Or purchase AUR) to really see any worthwhile return from this new "pseudo expansion"..
I can't speak for everyone but I broke down and purchased AUR today.. Don't I and those who continue to support this game deserve to know our investments are going to be worth anything in 6months. Or is CCP's image going to be that much more tarnished if the majority of what is being purchased ends up wasted.. ?
At the end of the day doesn't a company need to ask itself if how we are making money ethical especially if long term goals include current customers.. ? |

Everyone here knows Dust has a shelf life, probably a pretty limited shelf life as well, unless CCP's plans are to just keep monetizing it on the PS3 down to the very last player... Does anyone want that ?
It's true people will continue to play but with that being said you think its ethically right to sell a feature to a community knowing your product has a limited lifespan ?
I never said they couldn't do what ever they wanted with payable content but chances are Ratatti or someone at CCP knows what is being done or what is not being done with Dust/Legion...
They also know what can and can't be transferred if Dust was to ever go to the PS4. Last I read If Legion was a thing, the only thing transferable are your skillpoints.
I don't see this static Warbarge garbage being part of Legion or even Next Gen Dusts "Big picture" If it is, why doesn't someone say this ? If CCP came out and said hey guys your Warbarge specs will be transferable over to Dust PS4 or Legion.. Do you know how many more people would be throwing money at them..
The silence is what's killing it.. |

I don't think so either but don't you want to know what you're investing in is going to mean something in the end...
This type of marketing is why I don't play single player games, that don't transfer save files.. It's basically throwing money away because everything you paid for or worked for disappears in 6 months when they release a new title .. |

This is them back peddling because they saw they could still make a buck before giving it to Legion.
I agree, although they could pick a better way to get funding from players, I wouldn't mind contributing if they were actually honest about Dust/Legion. I would actually be willing to spend money if I knew where it was going...
I guess it's a double edge sword they could be transparent with us and release Legion/Dust plans, milestones, etc.. Then purely console fanboys won't even considering purchasing AUR.
Is silence really a better alternative to transparency because the silence and haphazard rapid monetization is pushing away both Legion enthusiast and possible new players...
I really believe if they were transparent, there would have push back and negative reactions but the fans who have stuck with them will build PC's and plan for a Legion release.
****, just look at the Legion General discussion when it was still a fresh idea through out the community.. Lots of people asking for PC builds and advice. CCP could learn from games like Star Citizen that have raised close to 80Million on purely being transparent with their idea and community...... |

Thor Odinson42 wrote:What if they literally had to earn "X amount of $" for "X amount of Dev time" estimated to green light projects for Dust?
Either way I agree that some forecasting about the future of Dust/Legion needs to happen.
I've thought about this too but CCP wasn't born yesterday, they know there finances and what they need.
So unless they plan on carrying this horrible monetization system over to Legion, I don't see why they would need to gauge it..
If you ask me CCP is gambling with their reputation when/if people find out all this fluff they're buying stays with the PS3... |
