HAVE to spend money? HAVE to? There was no other way for him to obtain what he purchased for AUR? None at all? Or does he just want instant gratification and had buyers remorse?
**** go try out Warframe and you'll understand what an expensive Cash Shop looks like.

**** go try out Warframe and you'll understand what an expensive Cash Shop looks like. I think monetization is quickly becoming the driving force behind all of Dust 514's new "features", but I will agree that some other games are doing monetization incorrectly. Warframe is probably one of them. Having said that, just because one company is doing it way way way wrong, doesn't give CCP permission to do it kind-of wrong.
I guess I don't see how people feel forced to purchase AUR. Yeah there are ads, but so what? We see ads constantly in our everyday lives, and sure they're annoying but it's really not that big of deal. In what instance are you forced to purchase AUR in Dust to make use of its features?

It was monetized before Warlords 1.0. Most of us are upset because AUR ads are now quickly making an appearance on every menu in this game. Sincerely, An adult working full-time that does not own a basement Full-time employee with part-time job as well, no basement, one shed. I am sick of the "alert" status of not having a booster and having unopened weakboxes.
And that's my beef. People are actually annoyed to a point of complaining because of a (!) appearing on the screen. But who knows, to each his own. I guess I don't sweat the small stuff.

For me it comes down to immersion. It is difficult for me to be immersed in a game that constantly makes me feel like I am a consumer. I don't play Dust 514 to feel like a customer. I play Dust 514 to be an immortal space mercenary. Stop reminding me that there is out-of-game currency all the damn time! If you want to turn down the ads a bit, that's fine, but understand that they're going to exist in one form or another because they want to get players to actually spend money on the game. I totally understand where you're coming from, just remember that the game actually has to make money too.
Honestly I much prefer a subscription based model anyways.

I'm fine with them making money, but lately it's getting ridiculous.
I would argue that people are being overly sensitive if they're so enraged by it. Like I get that it could be annoying so some but I think the reaction is a little over the top....regardless. I actually like it because it reminds me to reup my passive booster. Perhaps a setting that allows players to turn off AUR-based notifications? Because I'd hate to have it removed because I find that feature useful, but I can understand why people would want to turn it off.

Perhaps keep the F2P model but for and optional $15 a month you can get a care package of stuff for a better deal than if you had purchased it separately. Perma single boosters, a couple handful of keys, ect. Keep BPOs and whatnot a alacart purchase, but **** like boosters, keys, other **** I consume on a regular basis....I'll pay a monthly fee for that.

If Dust 514 offered a subscription-based payment model I would be all over it. Final Fantasy XIV 3 plataforms: PS3, PS4, PC. 1Million of people sign in Open beta. Square enix said: 1.8M subscriptions !!!.. but only 400,000 - 50,000 are active, and maybe 100,000 are bots xD (Chinese Gold Farmers) Dust 514 have 1 plataform: PS3 3,000-4,000 players max... weekends... If you have to pay a subscription. will go down to 500 MAX active players... subscription for Dust... NO. Maybe a "freemium" dedicate-server like Battlefield 4 could work, but pay a monthly subscription no.
Psssst you're not paying attention to the entire conversation.
The idea would be to offer a monthly package in addition to the existing system, where the items in the package totaled to be worth month then cost of the monthly fee. It would allow players who are dedicated to playing the game a lot to get a discount on the items they use frequently such as boosters.
