Agree with most of your comments. But for me, I've been playing many amazing games that say, "They'll never shut down!" then the next day, boom...they closed their doors and stole my money. For example, PlayStation Home, that virtual world was amazing and awesome, and was a lot of fun. Even with all the rumors from a year of playing it, many players were saying it was closing and such, but yet it never did, Sony/PSH claimed that they weren't planning on closing their doors anytime soon. So I continued to spend my money in that game, and see what happens? They're closing their doors stealing my money. I'm literally getting tired of supporting games that just basically stab me in the back in return. So knowing an official response, would be fantastic. But even then it makes me wonder if it's going to actually pan out to work through many years.
Another thing, I don't want to support it going into only PS4-PC because, that means a lot more money going down the drain to buy a PS4, in which I've heard has many bugs in it. And many returned consoles because of these bugs. It's sad that the PS3 isn't very old yet, and the PS4 just came out barely a year ago. And yet, the PS3 seems to be dead since the news of PlayStation Home closing it's doors in March.
For me, I would rather more virtual world game stick with PS3 for awhile.. It would be nice. Or even have a platform made for a combined gameplay experience. Basically like Dust514 made for all PS3 and PS4 gameplay, where you can play together on both consoles. It shouldn't be that hard considering the game platform is already made.. (Aka- Eve *computer base* and Dust514 *PS3 base* it's do-able!) I've seen a lot of successful games-virtual worlds do that, and they became high class legends. It will hit many target customers when advertising their games. Since not a lot of customers can afford a PS4...since it's brand new at the moment.
But any who....Just putting my two cents out there. :P |

Another thing that helps is to support a game for what it's already given you -- entertainment at a very cheap rate, compartively, to other hobbies -- rather than something that it might become. Plans have a way of going off the track and not materializing, and people tend to become angry if they place too much hope on "plans" and interpret them as "promises".
All of the above said, the silence from CCP is perhaps the most dismaying....and I suspect what's making many hold back from supporting Dust even more with their wallets.
Very true, I see your point there! |
