its being merged into the EvE client and therefore part of an EvE expansion rather than a standalone product.
beware fanfest 2015 (as project legion wouldn't have its own section it would just be apart of the EvE coverage in this case)

That's an interesting thought. That would actually make a little sense, as I'm sure Legion would have been a subscription service much like EvE. This way you get both games for one fee.
So, is this rumour, speculation or inside info?

Why would anyone pay money monthly to play a game like Dust?
Unless they make the title vastly different from Dust, no one will want a subscription.
I can't imagine Legion to have gameplay that could compare to the timelesness of titles like Unreal Tournament, which never had any subscriptions and always captured people for years. |

They'll pay a sub because the original plan was to integrate EVE, Legion and Valkyrie into your subbed account, making all three available on your character.
So instead of playing a merc or pilot or capsuleer your character can shuffle between each by swapping to the appropriate clone

A game like Dust.
But it's not Dust, it's Legion.
If we're talking hypothetically, if it were to have a subscription, the game should come with a lot more stuff than Dust did on first release. That's what I would expect. Now the fact that Legion is already being promised as a game that goes beyond Dust's capabilities is even more belief that Legion isn't simply just a Dust 514 Remix, but rather an evolved version of the game with more features :V.
And Legion =/= games like UT. Why? Because Legion is an MMO RPG. Unreal Tournament is simply an FPS. Their scopes are completely different, and so is there target audience.

There was that Eve United thing where all 3 games could be played with one account. That would be messed up if they said there would be no legion news because it's not called legion anymore though. |

If anything, the'll have an unified launcher, but I highly doubt that the'll integrate Legion into eve. They don't have the resources to do that properly, and Minmatar bandaids only work on spaceships, not in game development...
Though on a second thought...

I've thought about this too because EVE Devs have wanted to do this for awhile as far as a unified login for all games but I'm curious how they would handle merging SP over to your eve account.. I would imagine linking your psn account to your eve account then once confirmed it will be permanent..
Also if the current cash shop system keeps it's pace that wouldn't fly in the EVE universe. When CCP tried to do this back in Incarna the majority of the community rioted and canceled subs..
Hope this is what their trying to do I would rather pay a sub then baited in to this cash shop BS... |

Login options =/= same client. Look now, even you can login partly to eve authentacion server via psn... and you get merc from eve server and you use different client on diferent platform.

Do you even play EVE ? They have update the launcher and the graphic engine tenfold, if anything Dust is to ancient for the EVE client... |

Merging SP would be linked to the character but Legion SP and EVE SP would necessarily be separate. Same for valkyrie.
they are merely three aspects of the character, but the clients can be WILDLY different. It's just what SP happens in Legion, stays in LEgion. ISK may overlap. SP will not.

From a programming perspective this would be a disaster waiting to happen, to entwine two entirely different programs, as well as unneeded dead weight in a ridiculously huge client download.
I can see a common launcher though, an "Everything CCP" launcher that you can use to play any of their PC games.

I'd rather resub FF14, 3 years wasted just to start over with nothing, lose the money and time spent on dust just to have to sub for legion is asking too much for me.
Don't get me wrong I want legion on PC or ps4 just not the sub.
