So I skilled level 3 into amarr medium frame because I badly needed an assault-like suit for the more stand-and-deliver scenarios. Right now I double damp it and brick tank the rest of the modules and just have a basic SCR (I had a GLU-5 on it but it was just too unreliable the closer things got) but boy on a suit with more HP I guess you can really wring out the power on the SCR even though I'm not using the A-Assault.
My ScR game got like 4 times better on the A-Medium frame and when you double damp that much inherent HP on a medium frame it's pretty cool to use. Not the best suit no, I perform better with my trusty g.k0 scout, but the AMF is not really a suit to just scoff at I guess....but that lack of strafe gets me from time to time.
I also really like the Stamina specs of the amarr in general, pretty good for covering those longer distances that are "on fire". However what pisses me off is that the A/1 is the same slot layout as my G/1 scout so it's like I can't fit any differently really.

Hi, So I'm a bit confused, normally you dont hear of putting dampeners on a amar assault.
I'm curious on how you do.
What is your average kdr ratio?
Do you find that your able to sneak up on people with this suit?
And if you like this setup why not just use it on the g/1?

The damp are good for patrolling. Also the medium frames have different slot layouts. Same for heavy frame. The extra high slot is so nice

damping high hp suits feels nice and is good, just remember other enemies may "out regen" you and kill your high hp frame if they are long range skirmishers.
you''ll still get killed by heavies HMGs. you just as powerful as many other enemies. but maybe in a different way. |

Overall the double damped AMF works well for the clusters of coverage because it's slowness is then compensated by the nearby cover and you easily disappear from sight and radar. Otherwise on those longer stretches I tend to ditch the damps and just throttle that armor.
Overall I like the change of pace. It's like, not quite a heavy, because it's the profile of a medium, but it might as well be a heavy and it can fit more **** than my gallente scout and I have little interest in heavy weapons so the AMF is doing me alright.
The only thing is....... I don't dare put my mass driver on it.
