MAG had it so that when you spawned there were closed off buildings, that and small mobile buildings that you could look around with before you spawn into a deathtrap.
As for 'smart deploys' it's pretty similar in dust as is is to most other games, however most other games have better matchmaking so the spawn camping situations don't tend to happen as often. When there are balanced teams then it's more likely that the losing team can pull something off.
