In eve, we get things like drop, blue pill, etc, that boost performance while having some side effects that tend to be pretty drastic. I was wondering if we could possibly have narcotics implemented in this game or have it on our backlogs.
For those unfamiliar with narcotics in eve, there are chances for side effects, if you're lucky you only get one, if you're unlucky, you get them all. I'm not sure how long the drug should lay, whether it's a minute, or the entire life span of your dropsuit.
Application would be thus: hit the right button on the dpad (for ds3 users) this opens the dropsuit, orbital, and vehicle screen. Now there's a new option: Narcotics. Here's just a few ideas of narcotics at the pure level. While under the effect of narcotics, you are unable to switch suits, to prevent mechanic abuse to rid yourself of the side effects in a free suit, your biomass is tainted and thus will not be accepted for exchange.
Red drop: effect: reduces kick and dispersion by 75%. possible side effects: decreases field of view by 50%, decreases scan strength by 25%, decreases scan range by 25%, increases scan profile by 15%
Comments: basically this is intended to be artificial tunnel vision, with benefits. People who would like this drug are rail rifle users and heavies.
Nuerocrush1: effect: increases all movement speed by 40% possible side effects: reduces hip fire accuracy by 50%, increases dispersion by 35%, increases scan profile by 10%, reduce hacking speed by 20%
Comments: this is intended to be designed for scouts and their need to move faster at the cost of being accurate, and sacrificing Fine motor skills.
Neurocrush2 effect: reload 50% faster. side effects: move 30% slower, reduce stamina recharge by 25%, reduce overall stamina by 10%
I have ideas for vehicle skills, logi skills, hp buffs, ewar drugs, and so on. I could throw out somemore ideas if you guys are interested.
I think this could be an interesting mechanic and would make game play more interesting. But I have to wonder how we could get concord involved in the legality of the drugs.

Interesting. Though there's so much more we need to work on right now. And without figuring out the criminality aspect, it doesn't contribute anything new gameplay-wise. I suggest focusing on figuring out that part.

How would this change is this was a character-wide thing (as opposed to a clone-wide thing)?
You take your drug in the Merc Quarter much like a booster and it stays active for an hour. Just before a PC this could be the thing that turns you into a hulk or completely ruins your day. |

They are performance enhancing drugs in the game now. And they are legal. You want different ones focus on the existing solution without the dubious distinction of illegal drugs.
You want illegal drugs, criminal behavior, back stabbing and villainy then stick with EVE Online. It is the go to place for the low life scum in New Eden.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

they should be purchased with aurum and you can also purchase a narcotic agent to get %15 off who is not as pretty as the market one.. the one who spends the aurum can then turn around and sell them for isk but you have to be a serious dealer so they only sell them in large quantities- $49 for a narcotic starting pack

It would be cool to see something like a stimpack from starcraft.
An active module that once activated, begins increasing your damage, stamina, and movement/sprint speed. It slowly increases these stats over time, however you also start losing health.
When activated, your damage steadily increases, while your health decreases, to the point you deactivate the module, or die. When the module is deactivated you go into a sort of relapse, losing your stamina and health regen for a short period. The better the module, the shorter your relapse time would be.

I suppose it's something to consider, but instead of damaging you, it should lower your maximum health so logis cannot heal through it. But what of snipers and pilots?

Further, it's all about risk versus rewards, this module suggestion offers huge reward with little risk.
Perhaps make it so the effects cannot be reversed until clone death and you can't deactivate the module, but again we run into problems with pilots and snipers

Hmmm I think, personally, that if our dropsuit is linked to our clone bodies somehow it could administer small doses of the narcotic drug intravenously in order to maintain much higher bioavailability, as compared to oral administration. Thus we could minimize and possible eliminate side effects.
Since as clone soldiers engineered for optimal usage of our bodies, our metabolism along with renal clearance should be at a much higher and more efficient level compared to pilots, meaning we can more effectively control how long the drug stays within the body along with, hopefully, minimizing the amount of metabolites that circulate the body further reducing side effects.
Remember that a narcotic drug doesn't mean it's going to have side effects, it means that it is highly addictive. It would be more realistic to me to see that the drug would (the first time) provide a huge benefit but as you go further along in using it, it's effects are minimized. At this point the clone soldier is left to either stop using the drug in order to adjust his body to allow usage again, or be forced to apply drugs similar to our real world Suboxone to treat his addiction. Rather than coping with side effects the clone soldier would have to cope with the fact the drug isn't going to work if he keeps "spamming it". Its possible that the addiction could also be transferred from clone brain to clone brain since memory is transferred by death meaning the clone brain is modified, so could the brain be modified to remember and feel the addiction.
