However lore supports that Amarr ARE stubborn and inflexible but prone of bursts of inspiration especially in military matters.
Dropsuits.... developed and prototyped by the Amarr Clone Tech and Sleeper implants...developed and prototyped by the Amarr TIII Confessor Destroyer..... developed and prototyped by the Amarr
moreover the Amarr have the largest of the Navies (despite the relative age of their vessels), etc
Sure the Amarr ARE stubborn pricks...... but when it comes to conquering **** nobody does it better.

Masters of conquering.. no. More like, they'll take what they can easily, but a powerful military might keeps them in their place. Like a wise Minmatar once said, they act like the playground bully.
I've yet to hear anyone argue a compelling argument for the defeat at Vak'Atioth as anything more than a moral blow to the Amarr. 1/3 vessels destroyed by a sub capital arm of only 200 ships which dreadnaughts were a very real part of the Amarrian arsenal. Probably wise that the Emperor of the time did not commit more men to the invasion though.
As far as information I can find suggests the Amarrian Sentinel suit pre-dates the events at Pike's Landing making it the first "Dropsuit" used by Immortal Clones.
Additionally the Federation are allies to the Republic for the same reason, though the more in-depth accounts only really saw the Caldari and Amarr make their mutual agreements after the Great Rebellion.... again that is if I am not mistaken. There's 6000 years of Amarrian lore to learn and I'm more familar with the Athran part of that the Age of Expansion.

I was referring to the immortal clone technology discovered by the Caldari. As for the Federation allying the Republic, that was because the two nations had been friendly towards each other for time and the Federation wanted to help the Minmatar against the Amarr; the Minmatar was weak on its own. The Gallenteans gave the Minmatar titan technology, and armed them during the Great Rebellion. The Caldari agreed to work with the Amarrians because the were a powerful ally militarily and economically, and could help them stand off against the Gallenteans.
The Amarr discovered the sleeper tech we use, not the Caldari.
Pretty sure somewhere it was established that the 51st Expeditionary Unit, a non combative unit attached the the Imperial Navy discovered the sleeper implants and used them on the Caldari Prisoners to create the first Templars.
Dude it was not a matter of Gallente being "all sympathetic and ****" to the plight of the Republic...remember there's no black and white in New Eden. I'll find and quote the piece of information that expresses the Gallentean view of the Republic if you bear with me a little bit......but its a fair assumption to suggest they use them as a buffer against the Empire with the intent to hold the balance of power in check.
"Even if the Federation was high on victory against the State, military leaders knew that opening a second full-scale war against the Amarr Empire would be fatal. Nonetheless, for a long time, the Federation government observed and studied the Minmatar, realizing that they could be used to weaken the Amarr Empire. However, they realized that open action would force hostilities with the Empire, so they were only able to covertly supply the Minmatar rebels with supplies and materiel."
"A sympathetic faction within the Federation government saw its chance to both pacify the popular cries to free the Minmatar, and the perceived need to weaken the Amarr Empire."
"However, many factors stopped this from becoming a reality. Minmatar space was in ruins, and if it was to become Federation territory, many resources would have to drained from elsewhere in the reconstruction. The largest factor was that the addition of the Minmatar to the Federation would no doubt antagonize the Amarr Empire significantly. Even if bruised by the defeats at the hands of the Jove, the Gallente felt that the Amarr would no doubt attack them if the Minmatar signed the Federal Charter."
I feel these comments outline that there was significantly more behind Freedom's Guile than just a Dudley Do Right attitude.
Never heard about the exchange of titan tech though.... will have to look into that.

But the Jove and the Sleepers are somewhat different. Aren't sleepers fully infomorphic now? Able to exist completely on a digital level.
