Is something i have always wondered, earlier i was approaching someone hacking a point, noone on radar or that i can see.

I kill that dude, then i find myself surrounded by three others, look on radar, still nothing, even though one of them is in a frontline suit, the other was a logi gk.0, and other was some advanced assault.

i killed evreyone but the frontline who got me, made him to even at the end of the match so meh

anyway, all my scanning skills are up to 5, so confused as to why they werent't on the radar, i mean they all couldn't be wearing dampners and have their skills at 5 too. well they could but slim odds.

 working as intended?

yeah sometimes it's messed up. noting like running scans and a invisible heavy runs right around the corner in front of you.

I'm assuming you're using a scout suit that isn't Amarr or Gallente and not using scan mods other than damps.

Your farthest scan range is roughly 30m, but with the scanning falloff it puts your precision at 46ish even with max skills. The base scan for med frames/assaults is 45 so you'll never scan them without precision mods.

Your next closest scan is only 15m at 36db, so even if you could scan they they're pretty much right on top of you anyway.

Honestly, passives for scouts (and in general) needs reworked, I have a thread bout it in Feedback/Discussion.

I think it is, I run 2 complex precision enhancers on my GK.0 Sentinel and have all my passive Scan related skills maxed.

Sometimes I see a proto scout lurking about 20m behind me, turn and kill him, the get shot in the back by another heavy who was no where on my Radar.

We need clarification on how exactly these things work.

it works, problem is that it has delays... the scanned one most likely is already sitting on you when he shows up on your personal scanner.

The TACNET has always worked exactly as intended. Do you know how it works?

Yup, but, say my precision is 41, then i should be able to scan 41+ from assault suit radius radius 2800. A frontline suit is 41dB in profile. So, it should have been picked up by the TACNET, but it was not. Therefore, unless the suit was modified, it does not work as intended.

Yeah it's very inconsistent but you can say that about a lot of mechanics in this game and hopefully they will look into that because I still get snuck upon by HAV's and DS's on a constant basis , you can hear them but putting a local to the sound is sometimes just hard and they can be less then 80m or a visual distance away .

Looking on the radar is useless sometimes and is one of the reasons that I carry scanners .

I hope they have a glitch patch that removes all if not most of the problems that have plagued this game for the longest time .

The play would be unmatched if that could happen and I'm sure the people who left would return in droves .

If that is what it is, then sure, I welcome beneficial Tacnet changes.

But I want better eWar for commandos. I could sprint past a wall and find an undamped Sentinel on the other side. And I have maxed eWar.

41 profile beats 41 precision, and a 45 profile would be 40.5 after skills which is below your 41 precision.

They changed to a "radius style" scanning system and I don't think it's working properly.

They closer people are to you, the stronger your scan precision is supposed to be i believe
