I don't want to see the Minscout have an extra low-slot. No, I don't hate the Minscout. My primary suit setup happens to be the Minscout with Nova Knives. I specialize deeply in that role as a Minja.
The reason I say this is because I'm more afraid of people asking CCP to bring about nerfs especially when CCP has a record of overdoing the nerfs sometimes because some people were just too whiny about it.
However, I do agree that perhaps the PG needs to be looked into. I'm probably not asking for much here, but I think an additional 5-9 PG should be enough. But that may not be the only way to address the problem.
The alternative could be that the Nova Knife Fitting Optimization skill book should be adjusted from 5% reduction per level in PG fitting requirements for the Nova Knives to maybe 6% due to the minimal impact that percentages have on small numbers. Currently, at max level, you can theoretically reduce the PG requirement of all knives by 2 PG but that's only if you don't have anything else fitted on the suit. Once you slap on a module, equipment, or another weapon the PG reduction will be dropped from 2 to 1 PG. This has something to do with how decimals are rounded in Dust. On top of that, investing so much SP for such little returns for the knife fitting optimization makes the skill book only useful up to level 3 which renders levels 4 and 5 practically useless. Perhaps this is what's holding back the Minscout.

If you think about it, the Minmatar Scout reminds me of the Rifter. Not that powerful and can be weak at times, but is versatile enough to make up for its shortcomings. Both happen to be Minmatar.

I think there are more pressing matters to look into, like balanced games. My Minja could be back to its pre Alpha 1.8 self and the game wouldn't be playable as is for me.
Also, I like the sacrifices, and am of the opinion that other suits should be making more sacrifices as well. Not enough of the game fittings require real sacrifice like they should.
I don't mind keeping the Minscout as it is right now. However, that Nova Knife Fitting Optimization skill book has me a bit irked.
