Now, part of this problem I think comes from thanks to the over abundance of Anti-Armor weapons. Face it shield users. There are more Anti-Armor weapons in the game AND the most used weapons in matches are Anti-Armor so anyone with a shield suit is not used to almost any weakness. If you take that into the shield suit users whining, it means that they are so used to get git with weapons that do minimal damage to their shields, that when a specialty weapon designed yo destroy shields comes inyo play, they cry and whine how said weapon is OP.
Now for damage profiles. There are currently 5 damage profiles.
Plasma +10/-10
Rail -10/+10
Projectile -15/+15
Laser +20/-20
Explosive -20/+20
Now look at that. 3 damage profiles designed to take out armor. Yet do you see any armor suit user complaining about these? Do you seeany armor suit user complaining how the Projectile and Explosive chew right threw armor like it was nothing? No. Even if RR, HMGs and CRs are the most used weapons in the battlefield, you almosy never see an armor suit user whining about.
But now, if a Laser weapons comes into play, a shield suit user will scream for a nerf to it's profile. Again, this most likely comes do to the over abundance of Anti-Armor weapons and them being so used to be getting hit with those that when an Anti-Shield weapon comes out, they think its OP.
Can the weapon use some changes? Yeah. Does the damage profile need some chanages? No.
Funny how people arent complaining about the laser rifle or the assault scrambler rifle. They are complaining about the tactical scrambler rifle. Because the combination of excellent hip fire, excellent ADS performance, long range, virtually no kick, and massive alpha damage is overpowered when it is applied to the type of tanking that has like 30-40% less top end health than armor.
Caldari and Minmitar should not have to brick tank with shield and armor just to survive a single weapon.
Other rifles do not have this kind of <1sec demolition on any kind of suit. Explosive weapons have low rates of fire and are situationally useless. Shotguns have very low range and low rate of fire. Bolt pistol has low rate of fire, small clip, charge mechanic. And so on and so on. The Scrambler does have a heat mechanic, but thats not much help when the mechanic only kicks in after 800-1100 damage has already been done and the scrambler user is still free to switch over to sidearm or just take cover until it cools down.
I dont necessarily care about how this is fixed, but it does need to be fixed. The weapon is overpowered as **** against shield tanked suits. If adjusting the profile isnt what you want, then suggest something else. |

ASCR's will be very op In HFE, not only do they currently destroy shields like the ScR, but with the damage buff...it makes it better against armor and shield. I know what weapon I'M using~ on my armor suit. I kind of doubt it, the thing jitters around making it hard to keep on target, and unlike the tac scrambler, it has an upper bound on its dps. But I'd love to see the damn thing be useful, its one of my favorite weapons. |
