Drive-by heavies and heavies poppoing out of tanks to insta gank you with their HMG is becoming more and more common.
If vehicle animations can't be added, or an entrance delay make it so heavies have horrible vehicle handling. This would at least reduce the scrubbery of this tactic.

Sentinels shouldn't even be able to drive/pilot a vehicle and I say that as a proto Amarr Sentinel.

Agree with the idea or not, if CCP can't/won't program in an enter/exit animation or add a delay to getting into and out of vehicles, do you really think they're going to be able to give a single class of suits an entirely different set of driving/piloting mechanics?

Drive bys a valid, but scrubby tactic. Special forces and criminal gangs have been doing it for more than 100 years. Why shouldnt we be able to do it in dust, a sandbox shooter?
A battlefield is dynamic, denying the heaviest class means to transport itself will handicap it even further.

Because this is a game, which is meant to be balanced and enjoyable, and not like real life.

I think the same can be said for CRU campers and RE tossing but it's part of the game .
Just like JJ but you have mechanics that are created by users ingenuity and that's what's so special about this game over most .
Thinking outside the box .

Heavies are so big, I think that they should be stuck once they get in a vehicle with everything above their waist exposed for free shots as a penalty for hogging up oxygen sorta like how Tokka got stuck in that manhole in TMNT 2 : The Secret Of The Ooze (wow that just sounded... wow...) which I would post a video of, but I've been unable to find it on youtube.
So I'll just a video of the next best thing to demonstrate my point.

Because getting RE'd by invisible scouts that can throw them around corners while bouncing around as if they're made of Flubber is so fun.

Get a ride. Heavies shouldn't be able to have the firepower and armor and also speed and versatility with a vehicle. There is no drawback to a heavy other than not using a vehicle to get around.

I never said anything about lavs, I agree with that aspect. All I'm saying is I'm not flying to a roof as a scout.

Arent life balanced and enjoyable perhaps?
So your kinda saying the game should be fun for everyone except heavies then.
There are plenty of games which has an heavy class, balancing a heavy weapon and more hp than the rest of the classes. The issue with dust is that the heavy machine gun are a close range weapon which is a bad design.
