Well, started playing today and noticed upon my first game that the chevrons used to indicate whether a player is on your team or not does not follow the player like it should. For instance, I'll be standing still and the enemy player named "Derp" will be walking due north. His nametag and icon will more than often follow behind him by about 15 seconds and 20 meters below that point. Not sure if it's a system-specific issue or if others are seeing this.

I have the same problem.
I have the game installed on one PS3 using an HDMI connection to a TV, and another using a composite connection (horrible I Know, but it's an old television with no HDMI)
The TV using composite is doing this, but the HDMI one does not. As far as I can figure out everything else is the same: just the different TV and connector.
Can you give more info? If you and I can find a common denominator, we might be able to find the cause of the problem and at least be able to help CCP replicate it, if not fix it. |

I'm getting pretty much the same problem using composite cables. Names, bars, down arrow are all to the right and down on the ground in pretty much the same position that Axinex described. |

Yeah, getting this problem too using standard YWR/RCA cables. Fairly annoying. |

Confirmed on another SDTV. No HD capability at this house, UI elements trail around under the ground uselessly. |

i'm glad i'm not the only person experiencing this issue, it makes it fairly hard to play the game when i can't tell who is on my team and who isn't |

I'm having a similar problem with people's symbols and names being far to the bottom right of the actual character. No HD tv to test if that would be a solution though. |

Posting to confirm this is a composite issue. Hopefully a fix is found soon, because I really don't have the money to drop on an HD tv. |

I'm using composite/SD and I'm having the same issue. My tv is HD capable thought so I'll get a set of component cables and see if that clears it up. |

So following up here (also bump), as everyone above has posted confirming it as well.
I ran a number of tests to be sure, and it is definitely only an issue with non-HDMI setups.
Same issue on multiple PS3s, using same/ and different Televisions, and using different/ and the same cables. Did not happen once using an HDMI connection, no matter what I did, but every time I didn't use HDMI, this bug appeared.
Different resolutions, and television/graphical settings did not have any effect.
On non-HDMI connections this bug makes playing the game frustrating at best, unplayable at worst. You cant really tell who you are shooting at, or who is shooting at you. Playing on non-HDMI setup is bad enough, graphics wise (I am spoiled), so the UI is even more important to game-play. Which, of course makes this a major problem.
Unless you really like shooting blues.

Griz, composite cables will not help. I have used both those and typical RYW RCAs. The bug persists on both. |

Another weekend, another waste of playtime. Is there any attention on this so that we can play without flying blind? |

i found this to be a problem as well. i hope someone has seen this.
My 480p AV connection has the glitch where the icons are way off to the bottom right of the target, be it friend of foe, sometimes off the screen.
the other connection (component 1080i) (not 1080p hdmi) does not have this prob.
-Thanks. |

Mikaeus, have you run the video setup under your PS3's settings? You may be using an HDMI cable, but still on a low setting. |

I have an HDMI running into a 720p projector and I am having this issue. There are also issues with the screen being outside of the projection area, like the resolution was improperly scaled. The text is a bit hard to read too. I'm guessing 1080p is the correct resolution to be running right now. |

Amrav, have you run your video setup or is your PS3 on defaults? |

I'm having the same issues. Running RGB @ my mother in laws.
Basically the Target info runs in the bottom right of my screen, and not over the targets head, regardless if it's friend or foe.
At home, I run HDMI, and do no have this issue.
Yes I have adjusted every video setting/filter in the PS3 Display Menu.
If need be, I can take a small vid with my cell phone and email it or whatever, if you cannot replicate. |

Yeah that was the problem. I had adjusted it before but somehow it went back to 480p. Switched it back and now the game is much smoother, and I can actually see who is on which team! HUD fixed. |

At home, I have a 720p HDTV and never had this issue.
This weekend, I'm house sitting for a friend and brought my PS3. She only has an old standard definition television and it has this problem. SDTV's already make everything near unplayable anyways nowadays, but this kills it for me.
This is on an NTSC television. |
