lol. the only requirement is an ab and complex pg. Up to you to play with extenders, hardeners, and boosters. Its preference.

I despise that afterburners are mandatory, on ships that already have extremely limited fitting capacity. I enjoy heavy shield extender, hardener, scanner, but you cant run away fast enough from swarms so its only good vs singular AV. Shield boosters would.be great if they worked reliably, but they dont, and relying on them will often get you killed.
Im really fond of scanners since im a solo pilot, so i run complex heavy shield, complex AB, complex scanner and XT missiles, but enhanced heavy shield, complex AB, complex hardener and AT missiles gives you a lot more survivability on the way out.

1 Shield Ext, 1 Shield Hardener, 1 Shield Booster, PG, Missile Turret. -- Pretty good overall fit for taking a beating.
You can use afterburners, Personally I like them cause I can engage forges better with them. Fits are something you expand as you gain SP & figure out what your play style is.

I swear this is THE BEST FITTING possible. If you want survivability that is. You could possibly upgrade to a pro missile launcher tho.

I don't usually use AB. On a Python I prefer a booster for a free hit then good evasive maneuvering. Swarms aren't the problem with Python, it's the FG being able to aim at your ship. Good evasive maneuvering and absorbing the first shot work better for me. Then I run a scanner to see my targets. I fly in take a few shots then fly off and come back around.
I have had the best success with a booster on an Incubus also. Rather than pop an AB then still get hit by follow up swarm shots, I can absorb the first hit to sheilds as a warning shot then fly off. I can't run a scanner this way, but I can fly down close and get a quick passive scan then guess my shots or get an actual visual.
I'm better than laser focused; I'm hybrid focused.

Not true. Not all fits require the pg upgrade.
Complex afterburner, complex hardener, complex dmg mod. Xt-1 on the front & complex ammo expansion.
Kamikaze fit for tackling an irritating incubus.........
........just don't get hit by anything, or even looked at. And that's only if it survives being dropped by the RDV. |

Or go properly balls out with 2 x dmg mods + afterburner.
Might not be the best for a new pilot, but you'll certainly get 'experienced' quickly.

Because shield extenders use so much PG it's not even funny.
