I appreciate the work Rattati has been doing and I'm excited about the upcoming changes to pc and warbarges, but none of those things matter if the following issues still exist:
- **** poor matchmaking - an assortment of bugs and glitches - terrible performance ( low framerate, frequent freezes, lag) - the worst npe I have ever seen in a game
Imo these four things should be the priority for ccp before any editions to the game. Unfortunately, they won't be, since ccp can't monetize them. Meanwhile ccp will continue pumping out things no one asked for like apex suits, strongboxes, market agents and various other items to squeeze as much money out of the playerbase as possible.
You can't fight in here! This is the war room.

NPE and Matchmaking should be the top priorities right now in my opinion.
They are stopping new players from keeping with the game, and veterans from returning more frequently.

This is a niche game with elitist tryhards. Nothing you can do to change the NPE to prevent new players from leaving from slaughters at the hands of tryhards.
The game is not inviting. The community has its own sense of "weirdness" to it which already alienates many people from various demographics.
Not forgetting that gamers generally just want to pick up and play. Here, you have to join a squad or if you solo (which alot more players do than its acknowledged), you risk high ISK costs with low payouts. SP handouts works are better but most come on the other side of an real world money investment. So if you want to advance faster, spend real world money. If you don't, cower in the corner as you try to make good on items that require ISK to be used.
Not too mention that if a weapon is deemed OP by the GD community, the meta rears its ugly head. Noobies who have finally found the dropsuit and weapon of choice are now dismayed because the performance is not the same due to nerfs. There's nothing constant here that grows at an even keel. There are 3-6 months of one item being one way and then its something different later on, which dramatically impacts the game.
And I wonder, what FPS game out there had this "great NPE"? I know Dust doesn't have the greatest but in my recent memory, the NPE in any FPS game I played was negated by a larger playerbase which allowed balancing of fights. I don't recall too many FPS games with this wonderful NPE

Rattati has mentioned meta capped game modes, which would be very helpful with making the NPE more tolerable.

Also I'm going to be curious to see what concurrent players look like once PS2 rolls out.. Sure this is a niche game that may hold onto a niche player base but as soon as an immersive solid core/gun mechanics, shooter releases it's lights out for Dust. Sure this has been said before ie Destiny but all the Dust bus needs is a few more to switch sides and it's too far over the cliff to save it then.. |

You can add hit detection which is not only related to lags in this list. They could fix it through client patches if they would work on it a little bit..
