All other vehicles, when their HP becomes 0 explode and disintegrate, why is the Dropship different?
I guess there would be no hope for people to jump out once it's been destroyed, but isn't that kinda the point..?

I remember that this wasn't always the case, just don't remember when things changed.
They don't explode if you keep shooting them either, for example if there's a gorgon or the like on a rooftop for example and I 'destroy' it with my FG, you can keep hitting it and doing seemingly no damage, and then after a number of seconds it then blows up.
I'm pretty sure I've emptied a whole clip (6 rounds > ~12,000dmg) with the officer FG and the same is still happening

I agree it should be the same for all - make HAV's and LAV's give you a 'bail out' timer, or make the dropships explode just the same.

All we did was let a couple of swarms loose after it died, it hit the DS, and it went boom before it touched the ground. Did I witness an anomaly, then?
Maybe it's not every time, I don't think I've ever, in 2 years witnessed a DS blow up as the killing blow was recieved.

Nice one - I used to donate too, I had around 50 mil but I used most of it on my proto Min Scout and didn't pay attention to how much I was spending
