Its not the damage, the clip, the RoF, the invisible missiles or 90% turns, its not even the crazy damage profile vs armor, or its fire and forget nature, or even flight speed or duration.
The problem is simple
No notification that youre being tracked by swarm missiles.
Why? Its simple, swarm flight duration is MASSIVE, and will follow you for a long time. Now, as youre doing your job as a pilot and running from that single swarmer, youre very likely to catch the attention of other swarmers alomg the way, who also toss rounds into the air as you fly by. However, there is virtually no way to know this unless you're hit by them. You usually cant hear them detonate, you cant hear them traveling untill theyre hitting you, and you most certainly cant hear them being launched as you fly by.
Give an on screen indicator that swarms are currently tracking you, and that will go a LONG way towards making piloting a more satisfying experience, while not touching swarm launchers in any way.
Or at absolute least give us a rear view option so we can check for ourselves, since turning = hit by swarms

The former removes the need for situational awareness, as you'll always know when your about to be attacked in SL/ADS engagements so it's not a good idea.
The latter however should be an option for all vehicles.

In my opinion the lock-on warning should have been there from the start.
And we still don't have it.

The latter however should be an option for all vehicles. It doesn't warn you while being locked, only when theyre in the air. If you pilot often you know that swarms are almost impossible to detect half the time, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. You still need situational awareness to run from them without dieing to other AV
Swarms are fire and forget, so pilots should have an equally simple and reliable means of detecting them
