If you're not a sentinel, then use profile dampeners. They are much more useful when you're nowhere near a squad that will be detected and get you killed(I've run with some bad squads). They allow for much more successful flanking.
I think if any logistics suit would be okay at soloing, it would be the Amarr variant. I do it, and it's fine:
In ambushes, I will bring an uplink, repair tool, laser rifle and scrambler pistol.
In skirmishes, I will often use an advanced suit fitted with kinetic catalyzers, a profile dampener, knives, and precision enhancers (I like it more than the scout, because of bandwidth). I carry flux uplinks, explosives and dual purpose nano hives.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

On the rare occasion I solo, I logi. I get where the action is and support the team. Get links in strategic locations, rep anyone taking fire, throw a hive when they've been shooting a lot and pick up any fallen comrades. I also run a better weapon on my solo logi as I can't count on my squad to protect me. Six kin cr is my weapon of choice. Oh and make sure I'm a one man squad cause it's very possible to earn your own warbarge strikes, especially in domination.

Best solo suit? I'd say Gal Scout or maybe Cal Scout. Use it's EWAR capabilities and stick to the edges of the battlefield picking off lone wolves not paying as much attention as they should to their flanks/rear. A Gal Logi can also be pretty effective with scanners and a rep tool in the more confined areas of the maps/battles. |

When I'm alone I personaly use Caldari suits ( I know this is not the best race, but I love it  ) And I think playing shield with good regen is the best way when you're alone

But a gallente assault with 2x complex rep and 2x complex ferro plates is really good. Good armor repair (23hp/s), good tanking (504HP armor) + 1 enhanced damager + 1 complex precision mod. Add the GEK-38 AR and the M-512 SMg and you have something really good

Cal assault c-1 series.
1 complex shield.
3 complex light damage mods.
Complex/ enhanced regulator.
Basic reactive plate.
Rs-90 combat rifle.
Toxin smg or breach smg.
Nanohive.
40 something k total.
