And you are wrong. Infantry doesn't sacrifice anything to fight vehicles? Thats a load of sh!t and you know it. A swarmer sacrifices his light weapon spot, to only be able to defend himself with a sidearm unless he is a commando. Then he sacrifices any of the mods for precision or profile dampening becuz commandos are pretty bare. Everybody is sacrificing something.
Because your tank requires a whole lot of skill? Thats cute. Rolling around in a 5000 HP metal can with hardener capabilities and afterburner/nitrous.
Vehicles roles are to support infantry secure the objective. Not infantry support vehicles. |

Shield tanks just activate hardener and drive off. drive off tht is the part that i hate about swarms. 1 infantry player with 1 AV weapon should not make a tank drive off

I'm pretty sure what happened was either incompetence on the part of you and the blueberries or hitting/ running on the part of the Gunnlogi pilot.
Shield tanks are meant for burst tanking, so if he charged in with hardeners running and left when they were down, that's just how it goes. The counter is to chase it down or corner it.

Now, dont get me wrong. I'm not suggesting to nerf tanks or mega-buff infantry, I'm just saying that that is a broken tactic (I'd say it's the equivalent of a redline sniper).
I only stated the opinion of my dislike of the use of such tactics and called tankers out on it. |

Vehicles are supposed to support infantry by giving extra fire power to hold off enemies, while the infantry ate supposed to take care of anti-vehicle that's to make sure the vehicles do their job. An infantry's job is to take care of turrets, enemy-AV, and clean off an area to make room for the tank to pass by.
As it is right now, tanks DO suppress enemies, but the turrets don't pose much of a threat unless the tank is just sitting there not taking damage. As for enemy-AV, that's up to the red team to manage, so there may be either 0 doing it, or as many as 16.

2. They need to wait 30seconds or more for the modules to come back
3. A vehicle is alot more expensive than your barbie onesie
4. While everything is off it is super weak
5. AV infantry can be hiding anywhere
6. SL missiles will follow you back 400m

infantry: "1 swarmer/forger = 1 tank. I should be able to kill them myself!" tankers: "it should take a whole squad to kill me!"
I understand that not all infantry or tankers are like that^
But where do you balance it? Should tankers get bonuses to have other players in their tank (making it more team oriented to make up for having multiple infantry trying to destroy it)? Should tanks cost 1 mil isk each? What is the inbetween that would appease both infantry and tankers?

This is exactly the way CCP has designed vehicles. They have stated that they EXPECT tanks to destroy near everything for 20-30 seconds and then retreat while their mods cool down/repair. If this is not how you are fitting your tank, expect to die. Fit heavy buffer/hardner tanks and retreat when you have to. Gone are the days of being a near unstoppable force for the entire match.

Lol at how people always whine about random nonsense. The tank will be borderline invincible with complex shield hardeners; wait for those to go down and it's cake to destroy it. As for tankers, is there anything that's ever survived the proto-missile barrage? They have all the tools needed as well, no point in whining.
If anything, complaints should be coming from the ADS users. Hard plastic armor and static electricity shields V.S. proto AV? it's a flat out waste of ISK. |

That fit (i use it on my myron sometimes) is severely gimped when hardeners fall... However.. It's a swarm proof rock during uptime.
It's not invincible, it's just the modules in great usage. |

You don't seem to realise how purely idiotic your train of thought is. Just because something is highly expensive, does not mean that it should automatically perform better than something with a lower cost. If you don't like how much you're spending, change your fittings. Making a 500,000+ ISK dropship fitting won't make it any more resistant to being pulverized by Wrykomi swarms, and if you don't like that, who the hell cares? Go bltch and moan to CCP and see if they listen.
Both sides need to stop combating at any rate. The logic that tanks need to have multiple people attacking them simultaneously to be destroyed, is idiotic. So much so is the idea that tanks need to be nerfed, when realistically that only puts them dangerously closer to being as weak as dropships. |

A lot of other games balance tanks around the operation by two people. One pilot and main gunner with an anti tank gun, and one secondary gunner.
Tanks in those games are see as incredible threats and are usually taken out rapidly. One single person can do it themselves yes, but oddly enough in those communities I rarely hear crying about having to work with another player to knock out a tank. They just get on with it and do it.
I'd love to push tanks in Dust away from anti infantry main guns and into the realms of Main Battle Cannon.
