Caldari weapon works better on Minmatar suits, Minmatar weapons work best on Gallente suits and Gallente weapons work best on Caldari suits. Oddly enough Amarr weapons pair up with their suits pretty well.

That's because the Amarr are obsessed with their gold and tend to try and make them work together.

I have two Gal Assault fits I run. One with the AR/SMG and the other with the ARR/BrScP. I pull one over the other depending on the map and what type of suits I'm going up against -- AR for the more confined spaces or when going up against shield tankers, and ARR for going up against armor tankers or in the more open areas.
