As someone who primarily runs shield fits I must say the OP has lost his rabid-ass mind.

When one armor plate out performs 2 shield extenders, ferroscale plates give more HP with no movement penalty and the only self repairing plates put out as much HP as shield extenders you can't just shield stack and not end up regretting it more than a few times, shield stacking only works against CRs and it is so easy to armor stack without truly even trying and the caldari assault has the base HP to be the only suit that can come out with more shield HP than armor HP if duel stacked properly
Don't lecture me on how driopsuits work, I'm well aware of the limitations.
My preferred suits are:
Calsent minsent calassault minassault minmando then the others in no particular order
I run shield fits and I win against scrambler weapons as often as they kill me.
The secret is to not attempt to brawl with them inside 45-50m unless you're rocking an HMG or mass driver. Past that laser weapons are pretty easy to rip down. Just gotta remember to play to the strengths of the dropsuits.
when I run caldari I give supporting fire and covering fire to armor stupids.
when I play minmatar I run in rabid little circles spamming explosive shells all over the place and run away like a weenie and reload/recover to do it again. Or I run in with a burst HMG, murder a couple people and run the f*ck away really really fast.
Minsent really is the best assault suit ever.

I am working on getting all minmataar suits up to level 5 operation and have fully skilled out CRs and SMGs, I'm one level from level 5 on my logi and 2 on my scout and made my minmataar assault a working killing machine when dust was scout 514, I average 20 to 30 kills a match and find myself only out DPSed consistantly in close quarters my scrambler rifles and I run prototype damage mods especially as minmataar is supposed to be the damage tanking race
Ok I'm going to be very clear here.
Minmatar requires the highest skill point investment of all dropsuits. It's the racial set that does a bit of everything and none of it particularly well until you hit a few milestones.
All shield and all armor skills have to be maxed ASAP, fitting skills are the same. also high in priority is all of the biotics skills.
Unless your cores are maxed out or very close to maximum, the minmatar dropsuits are paper tigers.
They also suck balls if you try to dual tank them. You have to pick either shields and speed or armor and DPS or the suits are going to perform universally poorly across the board.
I have no problem with laser weapons because I didn't start into min suits until I had everything maxed, and I mastered the otehr racial dropsuit types.
Minmatar is hands-down the most difficult to learn because it is the most fragile but once you learn it, it's on. And all of the minmatar suits are lethal.

Then why are you having trouble killing scrambler wielders?
If you've been here since beta there's no excuse.
