It's not so much that Tanks are bad.....just not very interesting.
We know Shield HAV are insanely good. Hell look at Pyrex's fit. It highlights a couple of the disparities that I've pointed out including the fitting or armour modules (ideally with more SP in the role Pyrex could stack more armour since I could not see turrets on his tank), 712.14 damage per missile to armour for 4746 DPS to armour, amongst other things.
It also highlights the plight of the armour tank vs the shield tank. If their 3x 4000 DPS anti armour monsters hadn't prevented any armour tanks being on field it was the Railgun on that Hardened, Damage Modded, Armour Tanked Gunnlogi that did.
Armour tanks just don't really at the moment compete with shields.

Armour tanks just don't really at the moment compete with shields. i know tanks have no role and that shielded one are far better than armored one sue to the amount of armor damaging as compared to shield damaging based weapons, with the old hulls and modules that have been removed has taken alot of the tank variety out of the game which is sad indeed, but still some tankers that do nothing but QQ that AV is OP and that tanks have never been in a good postision ever ie. spker who actually give tankers a bad name im not looking or have ever wanted da buff for av i just went with the punched adapted and learned to use my weapon of choice in a different way, which included spec. into tanks to learn how they operate and what i can get out of them.
It's honestly very tough to balance against tanks that rapidly regenerate themselves and carry assault weapons instead of anti tanks guns.
In any other game you could arbitrarily set those values and armour resistance values to hull faces to represent the calibre and penetrative power of a round.......
In Dust you simply cannot. Honestly I think it would be easier to simply introduce single shot main battle cannons but the community won't have it. I think if players want to drive around in anti infantry vehicles they should do some in MAV like vehicles.

That is also another problem too we still do not have full racial vehicles or the MAV. the game is indeed missing a lot nor AVD or PRO. please explain the single shot batle cannon further i have not herd of this
Indeed. I sort of see the Medium Turret as the answer to all Dust's problems with vehicles.
Small Turrets are what I would consider small calibre anti infantry guns to be. The kinds of guns you fit on vehicles in addition to a larger main turret.
Medium Turrets as the primary in-between turret that handles bother vehicles + infantry in a fair manner and Medium Installations/ Sockets have attached to them.
Large Turrets as the top tier anti vehicle guns available to ground based vehicle users with explosive charges.
As I like to point out Dust 514 doesn't really have what you could define a "Tanks" instead choosing to define them as Heavy Assault Vehicles which are armoured vehicles with rapid firing weapons.
One issue I have with Dust HAV is they feel weightless to me. Their rounds are not powerful, they handle without inertia, and they honestly don't sound intimidating. One thing I love about other games with tanks present in them is the roar of the engines, the hull rocking as you come to a halt to fire, and the dust that is kicked up by the recoil of your main gun.
The paradigm I personally wish to see instituted amongst vehicles in Dust as a huge "Tank Nut" is the idea of the main battle cannon. This being a Main Gun that fires a large calibre round in either a single shot or two round bursts before having a 3 or so second chambering time before the next round is fired.
Ideally this would appeal to tankers who have good aim allowing them to engage other tanks at longer ranges, infantry with direct damage, or wounding infantry with splash without greatly impacting on their own spheres of combat.

Those are two of the best games out on the market at the moment and WOT is a beast of a game with it's precision in making it's vehicles as accurate as possible .
Not World of Tanks. I feel the game is a little too Arcade like for my tastes. It's more designed for competitive play than simulation like War Thunder is.
Currently I am a T3 German Tanker with a focus on the Panzer III like moving into the Tiger H1 and the Tiger II. I also drive American tanks the the Sherman M1A1 is currently my favourite tank in the game. I'm also on PS4 so the full tree isn't available yet. I simply prefer this game as a simulation because of the incredible depth of detail Gaijin has put into the game from specific information on their tanks, to the variations, and all of the armour X-Rays you will see in battle as your rounds strike the target.
I'm also a Tanker in Battlefield 4 loving Final Stand and the T85-Levkov Hover Tank. Also planning to be a Magrider Pilot on Planetside 2 for however long that entertains me. Also looking at getting back into MWO. I like machines with lots of fire power and my old Jaegermech S and DD are crying for me to fit my old AC20's and unlease the Dakka.

Sorry to clarify I have played it but after a bit of time wasn't too sold on it.
Well WT hasn't to my knowledge been around as long. Ground Forces is still being built up as we speak. It also purely focuses on WW2. Because of this I think they have the ability to go over board graphically whereas WoT does not.
I am looking forward to some simulations. The other cool with about WT is that fighter pilots are flying around above us.

Yeah I try to keep up with the updates because it's going to be one of the games I play after Dust , I play other games but I get wrapped up in them and don't have too much time and if a game has similar aspects that remind me of another , then I just get wrapped in that game . Don't really like COD or BF too much and I can play Dust even with all of it's flaws ... it's still nice but I've been board as of late . I just try and keep waiting to see what's happening here and until The District comes out . I just need a in-depth shooter to keep me occupied and a touch of something with a mythical theme every now and then like SOM from the LOTR or The Witcher .
Since I stopped playing Dust I've been through Shadow of Mordor (I wish there was an MMO version that let me play as an Orc), Trals in the Skies, but yeah I'm bored to until Bloodborne and PS2 comes out.
