If you will have fun with it and the money is not completely necessary, yes.
People will spend 50 dollars for a good dinner and a movie with friends. If you will get the same amount of enjoyment out of your purchase it is the same thing; 50 dollars for some fun. If you have the expectation that spending that money will get you 'sexual intercourse' in regards to DUST you are probably being too hopeful.
Frankly, I would expect nothing to transfer over the Legion. If you have that in mind, are you still willing to buy the items? Pessimistically, "Legion has been quite for so long and the team wants to get a whole bunch of new EVE players into Legion that there is no way that they are going to let us keep 40 million SP and millions of ISK. At the best, you are keeping your name, BPO's as skins, and maybe your Loyalty Rank."
DUST has to be shut off at some point, like all games really. Sony is only going to support the PS3 for so long and IF Legion comes out and there is ANY kind of transfer, I highly doubt that CCP will continue to work on DUST.

Personally I am a console player, I have always been a console player and i will always be a console player, so i keep the faith that as long as you all and myself help support the game we will NEVER have to see Legion!! Because I would probably hate the game anyways on a PC.
Wasn't making a statement about DUST. I was only giving the pessimistic possibility of DUST disappearing in short order. Whether or not Legion comes out is something that I feel has little bearing on whether DUST is still around in 18 months. Was only using Legion as an example.
Hope that DUST stays around either way, whether it be 'Legion' or DUST.
