I'd like to show thse struggle that is being over weight onthe dust battlefield. Here is where you come in, I need some basic fits to usefor a few days. I have core skills ready but ill have to dump sp into the hmg and whatever suit I endup goin with. So what suit is the average player rocking? That speedy min heavy? The fat iron man amarr? Amarr is really the only choice - the other 3 suits are just trying to compete with how it's the best EHP and most versatile to use suit, being the best runner, hacker, and repper.

Minmatars heavy base strafe speed won't win it it's 1v1's vs an experience amarr sentinel, and the Caldari one is useful is you like forging or stacking 4 dmg mods, which isn't that helpful.

All in all - 4 lows on a heavy suit is king.

Choose the heavy you like the most. They are all pretty balaned and have different strenghs . THe real Op thing here is the HMG, not the sentinel suits themselves.

I would go with AMarr (For projectile resistance aka: Combat rifles/SMG's/other HMG's) or the Caldari one (Shields that have resistance 5% to projectiles AND has resistance to lasers, plus 1second shield depleted delay)

The advice I was given was go Amarr, but the benefits are best at proto. I use a Templar sentinel bpo (0 sp invested) and a mlt bpo hmg. Sucks balls since the A-I lost the high slot (dmg mod).

I suggest hard mode heavy, Aka minmatar. You'll then understand just how easy it is to be killed as a heavy. Bolt pistols and scrambler rifles will tear you to shreds in seconds.
Make it light and fast. Kin kats and armor rep in the lows,
Shields and/or damage mod in the highs.

My two favorites are Minmatar and Gallente. I enjoy using the Minmatar for when I want speed, and Gallente for power. Most people seem to like the Amarr, but I personally like the the range of motion w/these two suits. But everbodys different.

Amarr is probably best, particularly if you have a logi. Gal is similar, but just less so.

Minmatar can be fit out to be really fast, and Caldari shield tanks similar -- and they present some neat fits if you tend to run solo.

But really, IMO, Amarr is the best.

Amarr if you have full time logi support, Gallente for less logi support, but still logi support, caldari for forging and staying at a range, and the minmatar for chasing tanks with a forge gun or blapping people with a burst HMG. That's how I see it anyways.

Amarr has a lot of Armor, which is great for the Logis behind you as well as having a lot of shields which reduces the DPS that other heavies will deal to you with their 85/115 Projectiles as well as having natural resistance to Projectiles. There could be a case for the Caldari Sentinel for the same reason but low base Armor doesn't make Logis want to follow you around and feed you the yellow stuff.

Gallente isn't bad. Lots of Armor, bonus against Rail damage is good but bonus against Lasers is less useful considering the high armor and 115/85 of Scramblers and 120/80 of Laser Rifles.

Minmatar is faster but it loses out on too much EHP for it to be worth it. The Minmatar Scout and Assault lose EHP too but the Sentinel gives up a disproportionate amount of Health for a very minor speed increase unlike the others.

So Amarr if you want a Minmatar slave to follow you on a leash, Gallente if you want to have weaker bonuses but more armor, Caldari if you are going to be solo, and Minmatar if you want to move just a little bit faster but not be as good in a stand up fight.

You'd have to go with an armor heavy because when was the last time you heard someone complain about a shield heavy. Here's an adv gallente sent fit, 2 Ferros, 1 kin cat, damage mod, mh82, just try it. Or if you want to showcase the slowness of a heavy go amarr, 2 plates, 2 reps, mh82 and a damage mod. If you need any other fits, I know them all.

Proud owner of 4 proto commandos and 3 proto sentinels. All except amarr sent, its a beginner heavy tbh.:p |
