Might I also add that being a solo armor tanking heavy is one of the hardest things to do as NOBODY has time to rep or help our fatasses out...
Also we are very intimidating, running towards enemies (or speed waddling as I put it) can scare most newbies. And most these guys screaming 'NERF' don't understand or refuse to understand that if they outdistance our effective range we are sitting ducks. Mind you I am now using a bolt pistol to compensate for my lack of range with the HMG...

Most use the bolt pistol for its OP two hit kill capabilities.
I don't really care about OP stopping power, I just find it hilarious when I see a fat man with a little gun.
Never tried the Magsec, I got a couple mil SP doing nothing, think I might give it a go.

It's got roughly the damage of the basic AR, clip size is 58, it's damage is hybrid (shield and armor), and it's range is far enough to keep guys off you while you move to cover. 350 ammo capacity, and the charge up is only .30 Also use the ion pistol and sub in cqc.
Hybrid - Rail*
As it is rail tech, it is receives a buff to armor damage and a debuff against shield s.
(Still in my teaching mode, sorry)

Bradric Banewolf wrote: The AR is labeled hybrid isn't it? It's a shield weapon isn't it? By that logic I simply assumed all hybrid weapons faired well against both with stronger tendencies to one or the other. Don't wanna give out incorrect info so someone please clarify.
There are two types of Hybrid, Plasma (AR, Ion Pistol, Plasma Cannon, Shotgun) and Rail (Magsec, Bolt Pistol, Forge Gun, RR) (probally missed a few weapons).
The term hybrid has to deal with the type of ammunition used when firing. Part projectile and part energy. Rail (Caldari weapons) primarily deal armor damage and Plasma (Gallente weapons) primarily deal shield.
Edit: Logically you are correct, just there is the buff and debuff aspect that all weapons in New Eden have.
