That's why I always look around for a quick moment to see if I'm alone before I start moving. The spawn cloak lasts long enough to do a quick glance and then line up your shot before you decloak from your spawn. If I recall correctly, the decloak from a spawn doesn't have a firing delay compared to the decloak from the equipment.

A lone merc won't be able to scan a CRU effectively. You need a buddy. Or you can spam some mass drivers around the area.

An alternative to the mass driver spam is to have a buddy who has maxed out his Gallente Logistics and Active Scanners so that the cloaked scout (unless it's a Galscout) will light up on the TACNET.

I am seeing more and more of this CalScouts with more armor and shields than my Gallente Assault (388 armor)
A Galscout that tanks that much is only gimping itself. It's a precision and profile dampening suit first and foremost.
