Ditch the precision and range mods, they won't help you much, though the damp is a good idea. More shield for the highs and a KinCat for the lows with perhaps a reactive or ferroscale. If you're running into fitting issues swap the core for a basic flux, it will be more helpful against heavies.

Why you shouldn't bother with EWAR mods other than damps:
Precision:
Base precision for assaults is 45 and 40.5 at lvl5, this gives a short, normal, and falloff scan of 20.25/40.5/52.3. With one complex precision mod, this becomes 19.225/36.45/47.38. At your falloff range you will not scan unskilled meds and at your normal you will not scan unskilled scouts. You can argue that scanning dampened meds at normal is a benefit, but the scan range of 15m make that virtually worthless. In short, you gain nothing.
Range:
Base range of assaults is 20m, and at level 5 gives you 30. This gives you short, normal, and falloff ranges of 6/15/30. One complex mod gives you 6.9/17.25/34.5, or a gain of .9/2.25/4.5. These distances are negligible considering most suits will walk or run these distances in less than a second, not to mention that most engagements will occurs outside these ranges or in falloff with is only good for scanning heavies, even with a precision mod as shown above. In short, you gain nothing.
Dampener:
Base is 45, 40.5 with skills, 30.375 with a dampener, well below the agerage scouts passives and can dodge most active scans. A much better investment than the other two.

Thanks for the detailed explanation of eWar on Assaults. I guess I'm just going to remove my precision and range mods in favor of more shields and possibly a shield recharger or another profile damp. No problem. Btw, you can use protofits.com to theory craft some fits easier, you can even adjust your skills to see what you need to fit things. (I think their scan stats are a little off though, at least the range and precision)
