If I can kill a Sentinel with a HMG in a SEVR logi with a Militia ACR, you can kill them too.

But, because it is pair with a heavy the hmg balances out. The heavy is slow moving and the hmg has a crappy range. A heavy trying to cross an open space is a dead heavy. You can fight a heavy from a decent range and you will come out on top because you can touch him but he can't touch you. 3 to 4 shotgun at the basic level can take out a well armored advance heavy or 1 charged nove knife from a minmatar scout. A remote or a forged gun can take them out too. If you nerfed the HMG you also destroy the heavy suits. The hmg is the (and the forged gun) is the only thing good about the heavy suit. You take that away then being heavy is not worth it because it slow speed is too much of a drawback. Short version is that I vote a big fat NO!!! leave the hmg alone. By the way, people in my corp know me for running into heavies and thus getting killed all the time by them out of bad luck. With my gallente logi which doesn't really have a lot of health point I can almost kill a heavy on my own shooting them head on. I can take a heavy out if i see them first or if there is a hiding spot for me to take cove take a few shots and keep doing that until he dies. So, heavys are not immortal even with a logi helping them.

I killed a heavy with a scout that way. Heavies dont have to play smart sadly but to kill them you need to be smart. OP's problem is with Aim assist.. It makes the HMG too accurate for no reason... It has a generalized giant circle.... Let it work for the gun... It doesn't need a HD buff and Aim assist. Here watch the mechanics and testing done with it. There is argument to have it on some weapons... But not the HMG and shotgun.... They don't need it.

Hmg is OP but not crazy OP, it needs to have something added to give it a little more drawback. Heat buildup is negligible, you can kill three or more people before overheat happens. In short, just needs toning down, nothing major.

It and the minsent are pretty much my weapons of choice in the fat brigade work. Most blueberries couldn't figure out the business end of a rifle before shooting themselves once or thrice. THe shield sents have a higher SP overhead thatn the armor fatties and are harder to figure out how to deploy, but once you do... Ripping amarr sents open with a minmathug is absolutely awesome. EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

I pretty hard when a team seems like it might start losing so 5+ people switch to proto HMG sentinels. The HMG needs something though. A spool up time would be nice. I have always been a fan of the RoF of an HMG increases over time, finally topping out at 100% after about 3s of fire. Just call me Ripple. Ripple Riley. @Ripley_Riley
