Too many extremists on this forum, where have all the moderates gone? well it is a twitch based shooter.. to change that aspect would be quite an undertaking and complete rebalance of everything.. the few PC tactical shooters out there that are not arcadey are very niche populations.. you can't really have that on console and expect any kind of population outside of a handful of neckbeards.. it's probably why Bad Company 2 has rested in the bargain bin for this long, there wasn't enough dance involved for the console crowd. I don't think bringing it more to the middle ground rather than to either extreme would be that difficult. The trouble would be finding that sweet spot that wasn't overly arcadey while not strictly a sci-fi military sim (though I wouldn't mind that at all, I understand that it is an extreme position and not everyone will agree with me).
Amarr/Minmatar vehicles are OP (especially Minmatar speed tanks)

i think i'm just finding it annoying people flying around the map unnaturally like gravity doesn't exist. a player can literally run through the air for 10-15m at 11ms and land on his feet like nothing happened yet if he fell that distance at a slower speed he would sustain damage. now things are little more balanced these things we never noticed before are becoming more obvious.
next time you see a scout or speed logistics long jump about 10-15m or so watch as they glide gently through the air like batman and also look out for the random direction changes out of nowhere which are physically impossible to do and ask yourself, is that an acceptable mechanic.

Inertia controllers allow the kind of inertialess strafing we see. However, they only help on user initiated commands. Unforeseen impacts and inertia cause huge damage as the inertia controllers over compensate for the sudden impact.

there needs to a threshold at which point you are no longer able to turn until you land. at the same time stopping a turn mid flight should also be stopped. lets say 0.5 secs after jumping and instigating a turn
Not sure aht issues this would fix. Elaborate and maybe you will convince people (not me though - I think it should remain in game, assuming you are talking about people turning mid jump but I'm not sure if this is what you mean as vague post is vague)

It wouldn't "fix"anything, and would bring more problems to the table.
We rejoiced when we could control where we land during jumps when Super Castlevania IV came, taking that away is like going back to Simon's Quest. It's the same deal with this game. |

Different ideas on how to approach a problem is not indicative of extremism unless those ideas always push a singular goal at all times.
Av should be worthless vs. AV always wins is the most common level of extremism.
If an extremist doesn't see you preaching in lockstep with is goals he starts screaming the usual disruptive dogmatic B.S.
We have examples of this all over the forums where any nerf to a favored playstyle, no matter how trivial or needed, or a buff to anyone else's playstyle is "ruining the game."
It's idiotic, it's childish and it stopped being funny back in 1.4.
It's why I'm relieved when people take a break from sh*tposting occasionally and start getting down to business.

the problem is that a player can jump over another while never breaking visual with the enemy constantly shooting and land behind them long before that other player has the chance to turn around on the spot and retaliate. they cannot even follow them through the jump which to me makes jumping over a player uncounterable.
its not just this thats the issue. tbh i have zero problem with speed or people jumping over obstacles to get behind me and shoot me in the back. not an issue. what i do have an issue with is those players that just run straight at you knowing most shots will not register on you due to speed and that player constantly shooting then jumping over you still shooting and landing still shooting having not missed a single shot. there is too much control afforded us during jumps which we would not get during RL which with the current speed shots registering issues means some players are virtually invincible when they shouldn't and landing kill shots on targets that should have destroyed them.
a scout charging a hmg should die, a scout sneaking up on a heavy should get a kill. what shouldn't be the case is a scout or any other fast suit charging a group of enemies, jumping over them at speed and picking them off through the air.

While in medium suits, I usually have precision just good enough to tell me when a scout is right behind me, so I tend to sprint, Jump, and spin around while in the air so that I have a chance to kill the scout and I usually do-sometimes even when they actually hit me with a shotgun. I would have a much worse time with scouts if I could not rotate while airborne.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.
