Also, as a note, my personal view is everything should be give-able. Even the most unique unobtainable items in EVE can be traded. PLEX in EVE is a system that allows people to pay for game time (a real money cost) with ISK, by a trade with another player. Similarly, trading in DUST would ensure that every AUR-only item would be attainable by free players via trading.

Viktor Hadah Jr wrote:It's not about vehicle parity it's not about CCP rogue or rattati. It's about CCP as a company. They can't just say we hired this guy it did not work out so we hired someone else now it will work out. There should not be this get out of jail free card.
I don't take it as the old EP made these promises, i take it as CCP made these promises and they were broken. If CCP rogue left tomorrow and they got a new EP and then he said. We are shutting down dust and work exclusively on legion. would you say "Well this guy did not make any promises to work on dust so that is a completely legitimate decision"
Let me explain why you are an idiot.
Because the former EP made mistakes. Those promises, were a part of those mistakes. When you get a new EP, you don't tell the new guy "you have to keep making the mistakes the old EP made", because that's dumb. You seem to think that a company should be prohibited from fixing what it did wrong.
Those promises were a mistake. The new team is trying not to make those mistakes.

Also, actually, nobody at CCP ever said "I promise", "we promise", or the word "promise" either. So in addition to your poor expectations that the new EP should be forced to follow the old EP's path to run the game into the ground, you've decided that a tentative plan, which did not to fruition, now amounts to a "promise".

What do you mean by accountable? What do you feel CCP has to do to make you happy, Viktor? I will pass along to CCP, "Hey guys, Viktor says this is what will make him happy."
CCP didn't lie to you by showing concepts for Amarr and Minmatar vehicles. They showed you a roadmap, and that roadmap didn't happen. You decided it was a promise, but it never was. There was never any assurance that was made that specific things would be delivered within a specific timeframe.
So what exactly are you expecting CCP to be accountable to?

So what do you expect them to do about it, Viktor? Or is this whole tirade you saying you're bitter, intend to keep being bitter, and will continue reminding people of it on a regular basis? Are you saying CCP should give up trying to make you happy, because you'll hold every past mistake from former employees over them in perpetuity?
I mean, there's like nothing to work with in your post here.

Okay. I get that. Hopefully they'll exceed your current expectations then.

Lady MDK wrote:The phrase used at fanfest by laurino at his keynote which was 2012 I think as I recall regarding pve, drones, vehicles, frames and weapons was '... And it's all coming in 2013.' This sounds like a promise to me , and is therefore the mistake mentioned.
He may have been wrong, but there's a far stretch between an announcement and a 'promise'. Plans change, and unless someone made a blood pact or a contract with you, or at least said "let's pinky swear on it", no, you weren't promised crud.
Lady MDK wrote:I really hope dust 2.0 in Feb isn't just some fluff squeezed into existing mechanics. I know we have the roadmap and Ratatis statements about it but people we be very disappointed if warbarges are simply an isk sink and there isn't some extra gameplay about them. For example will we see them on the map, will we have to move them about to avoid being attacked ourselves? Or will it just be a screen that says 'well done you bought a warbarge...'.
There should be some new gameplay for sure, but bear in mind that this is an iterative project. It's a big project for a pretty small dev team. Not everything will exist in February, but hopefully over the cycle of patches in the new release, it will end up a robust system.

Maken Tosch wrote:Technically Viktor does have a point that CCP needs to be held accountable for its lack of maintaining its promises. Even if the promise was a very loose promise like "we hope to implement [insert feature here] by this time" or "we hope to fix [insert broken mechanic here] by this time" or whatever. A promise is a promise.
"We hope" is now a promise? o_o Wut?
So when you look at the current roadmap, if something gets bumped a patch or doesn't happen, we're going to get this whole "but CCP promised me!" thing? That's the sort of attitude that makes CCP hesitant to share their plans. Please do not make my job of getting them to communicate stuff harder by being completely and totally unreasonable.

Thor Odinson42 wrote:Being able to trade boosters and BPOs for ISK would lead to MORE AUR sales in my opinion. The people spending money now will be able to spend $ for ISK. Similar to what you see in Eve with Plex. The demand for ISK Boosters and BPOs would be high and there are plenty of people that would rather trade some AUR stuff for ISK than grind in crappy gear.
Thor, you are I are on the same page here. Trading of AUR items will probably be a big thing to help CCP's AUR sales, in addition to relieving a lot of concerns of free players by allowing them to buy AUR items with ISK.

I felt that one. :/ I will go ahead and hide in a corner and cry for the rest of the night. I did say promises myself, and now I feel dumb as a brick.
