You can sell Officer weapons now. I have spoken to people who have purchased them. Here is how:
Set up a PC matches with just one person on each team. The seller with the Officer weapons repeatedly dies in a copy of a starter fit with the Officer weapons added. The only redeemable items lost are the Officer Weapons. The buyer receives many of the lost Officer weapons as Salvage. The buyer transfers ISK to the seller to cover the purchase.
This method does result in the loss of a percentage of the Officer weapons during the transaction.
It also negatively effects the seller's KDR.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Odd I thought they would go for more. Officer weapons as the are is a limited source. Which means
there will be a demand for these weapons and that will drive the prices up. The price might be low starting
out but people will use these weapon and as their supplies drys out the demand for these weapons will only go up.
My suggestion is to hold on to them. Wait maybe a month or two for the market to somewhat stabilize then sell.
Hell hold a bid for the lot of em. You be surprised what people will pay when they don't have what they want.

Well it's just a guess, no-one can say for sure what they'll actually go for, but 500k is way too high. You can buy a regular proto weapon in the 44k range. An officer weapon isn't worth 12 times that imo. Plus I don't think they are quite as rare as some think. I know many people with hundreds of officer weapons including myself.

What you say is also ture but keep in mind that up untill now a lot of people never used their officer weapon because there was no way to get more. If the market is introduce in February you better believe more people will go officers thinking they can just buy more. Also new officer weapon will have a higher sell by rate because there really isn't a lot of them floating around to begin with.

That Simple Player trading is scheduled for next patch... Which is February ... Which again isn't to far off.
If we are only getting Simple player trading... Meaning Peer 2 Peer trading... Rather then being able to populate a public player ran market?
Then players will have to do their marketing and sales on Forums... This player might simply be looking for buyers for the upcomming changes...
And is now taking down player names as notes for people who he can contact to buy his officer weapons. |

I think you think Officer weapons are more rare then they truly are...
It's kinda like the collectible industry... Everyone thought certain Cards and toys where extremely rare... Then the internet came out and they got to know how many world wide there are...
Officer weapons will be much the same..
People think they are much more rare then they are... This might be true of the newly made officer weapons.. But the ones that have been around for nearly 3 years collecting in peoples inventory?
We got to keep all our officer items from Beta when they launched into Uprising... Just remember that. |

All this means is that for the first 4 - 5 months after simple player trading gets introduced officer gear will be uncommon, but attainable. After that initial flood of gear is destroyed officer gear will become rare again.
Also, you aren't counting on the hundreds of players who just sold their officer crap off as soon as the NPC market went live.
